Argentina's processed and unprocessed fish and shellfish exports totalled earned 523 million US dollars in the first seven months of 2005, 5% above the same period last year, reported the National Institute of Statistics and Census (INDEC).
According to NDEC, last July, unprocessed fish and shellfish exports amounted to 39 million US dollars, a 17% compared to July 2004.
During the first seven months of the year, unprocessed fish and shellfish exports totalled 319 million US dollars, virtually the same as a year ago, while processed fish and shellfish exports, in July reached 29 million US dollars, 12% over July 2004.
The report also indicates that Argentine shrimp and prawn exports totalled 68 million US dollars in the first seven months of 2005 that is a 55% drop over the 152 million US dollars of the same period in 2004. (FIS/MP).-
