The Lebanese branch of the Shiite Hezbollah group, allegedly supported by Iran, denied any participation in the attack on the Buenos Aires Jewish community centre AMIA and also denied that militant Ibrahim Hussein Berro was involved in the action.

The denial release was published in Lebanon newspapers Friday and delivered to several international news agencies. Argentina and several international intelligence organizations claim Hezbollah is the main suspect of the July 1994 terrorist attack in the heart of Buenos Aires which killed 85 people and wounded over 200.

Regarding Ibrahim Hussein Berro, the alleged suicide driver of the van full of explosives which exploded next to the AMIA building and who this week was specifically named by Argentine prosecutors investigating the case, Hezbollah underlines he died fighting in Lebanon.

"His body as that of dozens of resistance martyrs lies in Israel", said the release.

The terrorist organization further on claims Argentina's "accusations" must be seen in the "framework of Israeli propaganda" and are "categorically denied".

This week Argentine prosecutor Alberto Nisman announced in Buenos Aires that there was evidence confirming Ibrahim Hussein Berro was the suicide driver of the Traffic van which completely levelled down the several stories AMIA building.

Mr. Nisman said that one of his brothers living in Detroit, US, had acknowledged that Ibrahim was involved in the attack.

However the brother later denied having said that to the prosecutor and ratified Ibrahim died fighting in the south of Lebanon.

The alleged bomber belonged to a family of Hezbollah militants, and an elder brother also died in a similar suicide action in 1989. Two brothers now living in Detroit apparently migrated because they did not agree with their family's fundamentalism.
