The Joint Task Group for the de-mining of the Falkland Islands is currently holding a three days meeting in London according to the Argentine press.

This is the sixth time Argentine and British officials meet to address the issue which on this occasion comes with a background of at least "fourteen formal protests from Argentina to London over issues ranging from fisheries, mining and oil exploration".

Argentine Foreign Affairs Under Secretary Jorge Taiana, (who is being mentioned as a possible successor of Rafael Bielsa in the coming cabinet reshuffle) is responsible for the Falklands de-mining feasibility study.

The Argentine press reveals that last October 13 Mr. Taiana addressed a letter to his Defence counterpart Jaime Garreta requesting military experts for the delegation that will be holding the talks in the Foreign Office until next Wednesday.

Guillermo Rossi, Deputy of the Malvinas Desk will be head of the delegation together with retired Navy Captain Carlos Nielsen and Colonel Oscar Giacomelli.

The feasibility project so far has a 100.000 US dollars budget.

Apparently Argentine military officers with their British counterparts are expected to make a field analysis of the situation.
