Mercopress on line first ten years

2006 is a very special year for Mercopress: it marks the first ten years of our on line service which has been made possible thanks to the shared commitment and confidence of our clients, subscribers and readers.

But we must not forget the support from our many friends who encouraged us to go ahead with an independent project, which has proved successful, in spite of the ferocious competition in a field overrun by media corporations with abundance of resources.

During these ten years on line, Mercopress has steadily built a leading reputation on its market niche, becoming a forceful and respected reference in South Atlantic and Mercosur affairs with links from the world's main news agencies and an astonishing feedback.

Actually sometimes we're overwhelmed so many things are going on in the South Atlantic and how challenging covering Mercosur's visions and reality has become.

When the project was first launched the idea of a sloop sailing among fully equipped armadas in the high seas was awesome.

However in an ever advancing globalized world with so many things becoming standard and uniform, thankfully cultural diversity and grass roots identity have emerged with self determination and pride as a counterbalance.

This probably is that vital space where Mercopress on line pushes ahead, a mix of the wonderful broadband technology which ensures freedom of expression and access to information together with the support and affection of our readers and friends that make our 24 hours service a reality.
