The Argentine Air Force operating from Patagonia is currently involved in air exercise Pegasus which is scheduled to last until next May 5.
According to an official release from the Air Force the exercise includes attack, defense and support operations plus night flying, air re-fueling and search and rescue missions.
The exercise is coordinated from Rio Gallegos in Santa Cruz province with the participation of the following equipment: Mirage fighter bombers, A4-AR Skyhaws and KC-130 Hercules; Bell 212 and UH-1H helicopters; TPS43 land radars and anti air artillery, 20 mm cannons RH-20.
The purpose of the exercise is to improve the training of crews and mechanics in all kind of geographic theatres, enhance the degree of inter operations of the different weapons systems and test the current level of capability.
The aircrafts involved in the Pegasus exercise will also participate in an air show next May first in San Julian, Santa Cruz province, in coincidence with the main commemoration ceremony of the Argentine Air Force Fire Baptism.
