Buying surplus equipment couldn't get any easier with the arrival of the Disposal Service Agency's on-line auction capability. A secure bidding and buying process that's unique within the United Kingdom's Ministry of Defence is now available.
What started a few years ago as a place to display a wide range of un-required clothes, vehicles and other surplus MoD and Government equipment has now developed into a marketplace where you can purchase a variety of interesting items direct from the DSA's Contractors via the Disposal Service Agency's website www.edisposal.comSince the DSA's inception as a British Government agency in 1994 it has recouped more than £700 million for the public purse by selling surplus assets, although its move onto the Internet is expected to increase that figure substantially. Some of the bargains offered are the small armored vehicle BV206, standard with the NATO forces which has a going price of £ 6.500. Other interesting items include practically new Land Rover Defender 90 Special OPS Vehicle, which costs £ 12.500 that is half the going price of a Land Rover 90 Hard Top. But if you are concerned with personal safety there's the automatic Land Rover Discovery armored version.
