Argentine Malvinas veterans visiting La Paz on Monday handed Bolivian president Evo Morales a coffer with Falkland Islands soil and requested support to recover the Islands for Argentina and Latinamerica.

A similar coffer was given to Cuban leader Fidel Castro and Venezuela's Hugo Chavez by Argentine veterans not so long ago. "Our visit is not causal, in Bolivia the country is undergoing a deep process of change with President Morales leading and that's why we asked him to collaborate with President Nestor Kirchner in recovering the Malvinas", said Ruben Raldes representing the group of veterans. President Morales said it was an honor to receive the visit of Malvinas veterans and announced he will also join the global campaign to inform the world that the Islands belong to Argentina and South America. Morales insisted that only the "unity" of the peoples of the Americas will help send the message and ensure that history is amended. "It's inconceivable that at this time and age there are countries in the world who think in looting through colonialism", he emphasized.
