Accompanied by an entourage of bodyguards, actor Daniel Craig will arrive in a private jet to the Chilean city of Antofagasta on March 24 to film a few scenes of the new James Bond movie, Quantum of Solace.
Craig, who requested a hotel with a sea view, will be giving a press conference on March 26 together with the German director Marc Foster. The filming will start the following day in Observatorio Paranal, the first of four locations. After the first scenes the film crew will shoot in the nearby towns of Cobija, Baquedano, and Michilla. Craig is now playing Bond in Panama, where he had to change hotels five times due to harassment from the local yellow press. "Quantum of Solace" will premier in November this year. The movie tells the story of Dominic Greene, a businessman linked to powerful actors in England that support a corrupt government in Latin America. In the movie, Bond travels from Haiti to Bolivia to Peru and northern Chile. The filming schedule also includes time in Spain, Panama, Peru, Italy, England and Austria. The Santiago Times
