Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez during his weekly program Hello President exhibited a t short with the phrase Why don't you shut up?, a gift from the King of Spain during his recent visit to several European countries.
The black t short has a caption picture of Chavez and of Spanish president Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, Spanish Foreign Affairs minister Angel Moratinos and King Juan Carlos. The picture corresponds to an incident occurred in Santiago de Chile during an Ibero American summit, when Chavez interrupted Rodriguez Zapatero and the King sitting and looking forward said the now world famous phrase to the Venezuelan president, "why don't you shut up?" "Here you can see Zapatero and Moratinos, the three of us are good friends" said Chavez jokingly during his television program broadcasted nation wide. "I'm a good friend of the King of Spain, from the very first day, so the incident in Santiago had to be overcome and so reconciliation. The incident obviously was over dimensioned by mass media" insisted Chavez. The Venezuelan president revealed that during his interview with the Spanish King in Mallorca he even joked about the incident in last year's Ibero American summit. "The King gave me a t shirt, and he asked me not to tell who had given it to him, because it had been a gift from a good friend", added Chavez. However following the incident last year tempers were high to the extent that Chavez threatened with expelling all Spanish businessmen from Venezuela and taking over their companies and assets.
