Chief Minister Peter Caruana proudly showed off Gibraltar's new plush modern London offices which will be known as Gibraltar House.
Its six floors are meticulously furnished and laid out with furniture purchased from a recent Savoy sale with top notch facilities from which the whole of Gibraltar can benefit. This is Gibraltar's "shop window and face" in London which has developed over the decades as Gibraltar has developed socially, economically and politically, the Chief Minister told the Gibraltar Chronicle during a brief tour. The building suits Gibraltar's modern relationship with Britain and will serve as a kind of representative or high commission office which Mr. Caruana says "this is the Gibraltar we want the UK and the world to know" and will be the building which does and will help to develop all of Gibraltar's business in London. The move to a new building became inevitable as the former building just a few doors down from the new location will shortly be demolished. But the Chief Minister believes this new building purchased by the Government is a great investment for the future. More than six million pounds has been spent by the Government on the exercise.
