Jun 28th, 2009 - 01:50 am - Link - Report abuse 0President Obama is making a big mistake in praising Brazil's Lula da Silva as a model for the Latin American region. The man is a political chameleon known for his inability to make tough decisions. He claims he has no authority to interfere in the independent judiciary that has consistently failed to honor the Hague Convention, thumbed its nose at the laws of other nations and thereby inflicted unconscionable suffering on innocent children and their parents. The highest executive in Brazil has the power to do something about this, but lacks the courage. No, President Obama you are mistaken in praising Lula da Silva whose country is now known a haven for kidnappers of children. The eyes of the world are on Brazil, even as its futbol team gears up for the World Cup, to see if its government will face up to the injustice of harboring child abductors, in a broken system where human rights are abused with impunity. There must be severe consequences until Brazil gets this right!
