President Michelle Bachelet launched a new website Monday afternoon aimed at informing foreigner about Chile.

The “estoeschile.cl” Web site combines text with videos, articles, music, outside links and maps.

The new site is organized into five different sections, titled –About Chile, Business, Tourism, Study and Living.

The “About Chile” section includes facts about Chilean history, culture, geography, science and wildlife, while the other four sections promote the advantages of selecting Chile as a travel or business destination.

The site is currently written in English and Spanish, but a Mandarin version will be launched in October.

One of the biggest controversies surrounding the website’s creation was the ending of the URL: would it be “.cl” or “.com?” The government finally decided on “.cl” in order to promote other Chilean Web sites that also carry a “.cl” URL.
