Gentoo penguins are returning to the Falklands in record numbers, after their best breeding season in more than ten years.     Bingham blasts Falkland’s fishery policy
    Marine biologist Mike Bingham claims that in 1982 the Penguin population in the Falkland Islands was six million, however twenty years later and as a direct consequence of the indiscriminate fisheries policy of the Islands government, only 600,000 are left.

    Love it, did you actually read the story?

    The decline in numbers was due to a number of factors; an algal bloom, avian pox, unusual water conditions affecting their food supply. But never pass up a chance to bash the Falklands eh.

    Did the mainland have an algal bloom or avian pox? The truth is easy to find but not if you have a closed mind and only accept the evidence that fits pre-conceived notions.
