Brazil’s main opposition party demanded responsibility from President Lula da Silva in combating the wave of violence rocking Rio do Janeiro and which has left at least 35 killed in shootings with the drugs’ gangs that even downed a police helicopter. Read full article

    Of course, the violence erupts once again AFTER they win the bid. It angers me, being a Chicagoan, that networks like Fox worked so hard to smear Chicago and build up Rio. Where was all this coverage during the bid? I can tell you that in Chicago there may be murders (like any other city) but we definitely do not shoot down police helicopters and have large scale drug wars. How much of this (http://tinyurl.com/yhd4dyj) does it take in order for the truth to finally come out?
