The Gibraltar Tourist Board held a tourism workshop in Madrid, Spain this week, in conjunction with Ándalus Líneas Aéreas, as part of the Rock’s government’s commitment to an ongoing joint marketing drive with the airline in Spain.

The workshop included a destination presentation by the Gibraltar Tourist Board along with a short introduction about Ándalus Líneas Aéreas delivered by the airline’s Sales Manager.

Participating alongside the Gibraltar Tourist Board and Ándalus Líneas Aéreas were 11 representatives from 10 companies/entities from Gibraltar’s tourism, leisure and hospitality industry.

The workshop was aimed primarily at promoting Gibraltar as a tourism destination and providing a showcase for the local industry, as well as highlighting the advantages of air services between Gibraltar and Madrid operated by Ándalus Líneas Aéreas. 51 travel agents and representatives of the travel and tourism press from the Madrid area attended the event.

Gibraltar is also present at the Association of Mediterranean Cruise Ports’ (MedCruise) 35th General Assembly at the Monte Carlo Bay Hotel and Resort and which extends until tomorrow Satur day.

Delegates representing approximately 40 MedCruise ports from the Mediterranean, the Black Sea and the Atlantic, and several Mediterranean ship agencies associated with MedCruise, are scheduled to meet with their invited guests, several executives of major cruise lines, such as Carol Marlow of P&O Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line’s Roberto Martinoli and Steve Bock, MSC Cruises’ Luigi Pastena Silversea´s Amerigo Perasso, V-Ships’ Roberto Giorgi, Star Clippers’ Mikael Krafft, and Costa Cruise´s Elisabetta de Nardo.
