Brazil’s all powerful Sao Paulo Federation of Industries, FIESP, said it is willing to yield positions so a free trade agreement can be reached with the European Union but also suggested Brazil should leave Mercosur aside. Read full article

Either Mercosul becomes a free-trade union or it disappears, FIESP is absolutely right, there is no reason why the Brazilian government should depend on the whims of its insignificant Mercosul partners for negotiations with the EU.
