Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez announced the arrival of a shipment of 300 Russian tanks and armoured vehicles and ordered the members of the ruling party, United Socialist party of Venezuela, PSUV, to join the militia and armed groups.

“We are about to receive, and it’s no secret, over 300 tanks and armoured vehicles from Russia. We are going to have T-72 tanks”, Chavez announced on national television.

Russia, whom Chavez describes as a “strategic ally” confirmed a few months ago that Venezuela had purchased light tanks BMP3, MPR and the T 72 tanks, with the purpose of replacing “obsolete military hardware”.

“This requires us to organize the soldiers that are going to drive them and shoot with them”, pointed out Chavez, and therefore he ordered “all the cadres from PSUV to join and become part of the militia”.

“But this is not a hobby or a game, so Chavez can see me marching; no, this is the organization of armed groups of peasants, where they live, where they toil the land, in factories, in the oil fields”, where they can effectively develop “true combat training”.

The new Venezuelan military law describes the armed forces as “Bolivarian” and in a recent review the figure of “combatant corps” was introduced, defined as “units of citizens, men and women that voluntarily register, organize and are trained by the general command of the Bolivarian Militia”

Chavez underlined that it is essential for the “Bolivarian revolution” to strengthen the Armed Forces of Venezuela and with this purpose between 2005 and 2007, 24 Suzkhoi fighter aircraft, 50 combat helicopters and 100.000 Kalashnikov assault rifles had been purchased from Russia.

What is his revolution about, when no country in the world claims or intents to make war with Venezuela.
Is Chavez's war to combat Venezuela lack of food, poverty, clean water and cut unemployment rates?
Largers economies such as Russian and China are leaving the socialism system and getting into the capitalism system or into mixed economies, why small economies such as Venezuela, Bolivia and Ecuador are leaving the capitalism to accept the socialism system?

The XXI century requires new economic order, especially in poor countries, but not the implementation of an unfunctional economic order such as the socialism, so what is his revolution about?

Good questions Kirk, there are so many answers but I suspect that those 3 countries (exclude Argentina) completely lost their minds. Soon or later they will fall and then it's people can rebuild it again, if they have the will.
