Oil rig “Ocean Guardian” leaves on 62-day journey to the Falklands

A tug boat is to haul a North Sea oil and gas exploration rig from a Highlands deep water port on a 62-day journey to the Falkland Islands. The “Ocean Guardian” rig will be used by Desire Petroleum to explore reserves in the North Falkland Basin. Read full article

    As i have been working on the ocean guardian for the past 5 years i must say that your information about the length of time that the rig will be down in the Fawklands is slightly wrong, the actual contract is for 1 year with options for a following extra years work. Although the extra years work is down to whether we find any oil or gas in the first 8 wells.
