Anyway they would have to be chartered and your country does not allow that. ha ha ha

Dec 18th, 2009 - 07:35 pm - Link - Report abuse 0One fact and one fact alone ensures that Aerolineas Argentin will never fly to the Islands - to do so the airline has to communicate with Falkland Islands Govt Dept of Civil Aviation to certify insurances,airworthiness certifiicates etc and flightplans - same as anywhere else in the world.BUT AA is Arg Govt part owned so how could it ever be allowed to communicate with Falkland Islands Govt? The Govt it refuse to recognise exists? Sorry Argentina you shoot yourselves in the feet every time.
Dec 18th, 2009 - 09:20 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Exactly the same way the Islands can never import say fresh fruit etc direct from Argentina - standard international regulations require the supply country to provide a biosecurity certificate(phytosanitary certificate) this Argentina refuse to do as it claims the Islands Govt does not exist!! Its not us who ban the import of Argentine products - its your Govt that prohibts their supply!! So instead we get nice stuff from Chile and Uruguay!
Islander, here in Ushuaia we buy Coke Made in Chile and in Chile (Punta Arenas) buy food in Argentina and in an another countries happens the same things, those in the civilitation we call T-R-A-D-E. That was lesson 1 of “HOW TO BE A COUNTRY”, lesson 2 means “How can I be a self determinated country”: The old colony system have ended (bad news) we have a united nation comitte of desconolization , maybe I have to write the book and give to your people in my next trip to Stanley.

And we know how to have selfdetermination in Government - as far as you can get in a small country of 3000 who is threatened by a big neighbour of 40millions!
