NASA surveillance flights to anticipate quakes in Haiti

US space agency NASA will send surveillance flights over Haiti and the Dominican Republic to look for signs that more earthquakes may hit the area after a giant quake that killed as many as 200,000 people two weeks ago. Read full article

    The use of tecnology to predict earthquakes is undoubtedly of huge interest to earth scientists - but what use if any will that knowledge be to local populations at risk? Are there any plans to link this information to any kind of early warning system, and if so, how would that work?
