'''..... The Argentine president then pointed her guns domestically and claimed there’s a historic process of “de-malvinization”, a subtle and intelligent strategy to convince Argentines to give up “what belongs to us because of history, geography and common sense”.

Looks like she's admiting that history does not favour Argentina .... what geography or common sense have to do with it is something of a mystery.

Jorge. You have stepped over the mark now. Your reference to Al-Qaeda is a slap in the face of all those who have been affected by the atrocities commited in the name of this disgusting organisation. Many Argentines where killed on 9/11 and your comment show you have no respect for human life even when it is the life of your countymen! If you wish to support Al-Qaeda then strap a bomb to yourself and blow up a school that dares to educate girls. I expected more of someone who lives in a county that found democracy after being under a tyranic dictatorship but considering your army decided to lock the population of Goose Green in a shed with no sanitation then nothing suprises me. You have just proven yourself to be a bitter and twisted individual who can hold nothing sacred (even the lives of civilians affected by terrorism). I imagine all posters to this board (regardless of nationality) find your comment offensive and will expect an apology on behalf of families affected by Al-Qaeda attacks.

There is no excuse for what you have said and you now need to be big and mature enough to admit your mistake in a open forum. Any credability you once had will be lost unless you make this admission.

I don't know why you even bother engaging with Jorge. He's just a ranting troll out for a rise. He'd fit in nicely in the 'International' folder on the Guardian talkboards. There's many of his ilk there although their obsession is Palestine.

He can only help the islanders in their desire for self determination. Who would vote to be ruled by a nation with his attitude?

Jorge. Your refusal to recognize that you over stepped the mark with your reference to Al-Qaeda has shown that you lack any integrity or decency. Your dismissal of the Argentine deaths on 9/11 as collateral damage and not the cold blooded murder it was exposes you as nothing more than a bitter individual who cares little for the sanctity of human life. Al-Qaeda has nothing to do with your Falkland Island gripe so who is making up stories now?

All rational people see any killing of civilians as an outrage. You appear to merely consider the deaths of your countrymen by Al-Qaeda as a mere formality and you can't even bring yourself to appologise to those individuals.

Jorge. Once again you simply reply by deflecting the argument away from your clearly articulated indifference to mass murder. The Junta fell in the aftermath of their defeat in the Falklands so by default the UK expedited it's demise. This is a separate issue than your willingness to see people die at the hands of Al-Qaeda. You have already indicated that you are willing to accept the death of Argentines (your countrymen) as collateral damages in terrorist atrocities. Thankfully I teach and work with Argentines who have more decency and patriotism in their little finger than you have in your entire body.

Everyone! Say hello to Jorge the Al-Qaeda supporter. Does he think women should be educated or children used as suicide bombers? He can't even accept his mistake and move on.

Britain has decolonised the Falklands in full accordance with its U.N. obligations; the people have their own government & freely choose to be British. Reading resolution 2065 (XX) in full

    daccess-dds ny.un.org/doc/RESOLUTION/GEN/NR0/218/28/IMG/NR021828.pdf?OpenElement

It recognises there is a territorial dispute between Argentina & the U.K. It says Argentina must also decolonise las Malvinas according to resolution 1514(XV). It also requires this process must be peaceful. Argentina falsely claims recognition of their dispute also recognises their sovereignty. Propaganda, pure & simple.

Reading UN resolution 1514 (XV) in full:

    daccess-dds-ny.un.org/doc/RESOLUTION/GEN/NR0/152/88/IMG/NR015288.pdf?OpenElement

It simply recognises the Islands as a British colony in 1960. It says the present day population should have self-determination. The United Nation's resolution addresses the rights of the people living on overseas territories to self-determination. Resolution 1514 does not address territorial disputes.

Britain has granted the Islanders self-determination & respects their wishes fully in accordance with the UN resolution 1514(XV).

Argentina is at fault regarding its obligations to the United Nations. Argentina intentionally broke binding UN Commitments. Firstly, Resolution 1514(XV) to jointly decolonise the Islands in co-operation with the U.K. Secondly, by attacking a fellow member of the United
Nations in 1982 contrary to Article 2. Thirdly by arguing against the universal human right to self-determination in favour of its false claim

The only people with rights, territorial and all others, are the people living there now according to U.N. resolutions & international law.

Argentine seeks to overturn all of the rights conferred on the Islanders by arguing a partial disruption to Argentine territorial integrity, i.e. the political, economic & military security of its nation today would be seriously destabilised. The past 177 year demonstrate its untrue.

Well actually Ms President - the Falklands are legally British and that is recognised as a fact by the international community. History shows that the Islands are British. As to her appeal to common sense - common sense is the last refuge of the incompetent.

Only Argentina is trying to act like a colonial power and that is a disgrace.

And in today's News President Kirchener summed up for the 80th time in her career that:
“something will be done which will be done, but maybe will be done when I make a similar speech in a few weeks time......where I will re-iterate that I will be doing something, that needs to be done, and we will get this thing done, by demanding from international institutions and friends that this thing must be done, and this thing that will be done, will be interspliced with cunning and fancy words, just to get like minded fans of this thing that needs to be done all excited ”

obviously Mrs Jerkner is a great fan of the film Groundhog day, just like her successors!

As one who lives in the Islands, I would like to applaud nitrojuan and jorge. They are the best adverts the Islands needs as all can see the true nature of the Argentine way of thinking......and attitude, to a people who have expressed democratically the way we wish to live, what language we wish to speak and with whom we wish to be linked with as we have historically, a lot longer than Argentina was a country. Many of their years have been without a democratically elected government. it is no wonder that we wish to remain British. The last time an Army General took over Great Britain was Oliver Cromwell. And he saw the light and handed it back to the Monarchy. So nitrojuan and jorgy porgy, keep up the good work. You are doing us many favours.

Actually my little terrorist supporting friend - you will find that, here in the UK, there is a lot of soul searching about our history. Unlike in Argentina it seems - if you are typical. Spain has a lot to answer for as they started European colonialism and that led to your country being formed - after they stole the land from, and murdered, the indigenous population. After independence Argentina continued to murder and steal - look at the Conquest of the Desert. Yes the UK has a lot to think about with regard to its past BUT we will take no attempts by an Argentinean, given its murderous past, to hold the moral high ground.

Jihad Jorge vomitted out his backside:
“How can we impose Alien law to islanders because they live on our land”

Jorge, for argentine sovereignty to work you would need to impose it first, and since the only people who would be required to obey it would be the Islanders, it is therefore alien to them, regardless if they live on your land or not.

“UN clearly states this is a “special case of colonialism”. You can twist it in any way, but “special case of colonialism” is just that, colonialism! End of story”

UN never once regarded it as a “special case of Colonialism”, whats a special case of colonialism Jihad Jorge as opposed to one of those “Unremarkable cases of Colonialism”, lets get this straight, they said colonial situation never once was it referred to as a colony, just a curious anomaly which had the traits of a colony but wasn't actually a colony! You must agree Jorge, that the Falkalnds does not tick any of the boxes of what we would call a colony?

But lets focus on what the UN also said:

“Reaffirming the need for the parties to take due account of the interests of the population of the Falkland Islands”

I beleive taking into account their interests is something Argentina has been quite lax at lately, self determination for instance is an interest that the Islanders hold quite dearly, not being a part of Argentina is an “interest”.

But finally an end to the situation in accordance with resolution 1514 has several paths: free association with the UK/Argentina, incoporation into UK/Argentina, independence, and all outcomes must take place in accordance with 1514 and thus self determination must take place.

Jorge. You are becoming a walking oxymoron. One minute you claim that you are not a violent person while before this you suggest you would be prepared to become a suicide bomber if you were standing next to me.

FYI, unlike you, I have have taken action in the Falkland Islands. I have invested money in three of the oil exploration compaines as well as in Falkland Islands Holdings. Selling on the ups and buying on the dips has made me a tidy some; I have put my money where my mouth is. What have you done? You have not even attended the national demonstration and it is hilarious that you seem to think that your capital city is just another town where a demo is happening.

If you wish to take some action in the Islands then invest the money you saved by not flying to Buenos Aries in the Falkland Islands and use the profit to buy a ticket to Waziristan to visit you Al-Qaeda freinds.

Jihad Jorge the Argentine Talib who thinks the death of Argentines on 9/11 was simply collateral damage, that the use of suicide bombers (even children who have been radicalised) is understandable, the one who thinks that his capital city is just another town and the individual who is not willing to do anything to substantiate his views/claims with action.

    A poor pathetic soul.

.......“What have you done? You have not even attended the national demonstration and it is hilarious that you seem to think that your capital city is just another town where a demo is happening.”.....

    - apparently...errr sorry, Obviously you don't know us. Malvinas is a national cause. The protest in Buenos Aires was not “national”. If you agree with me, then there is no british sovereignty there. Why would UN say ”non-self-governing terretory“ to a british terretory????”

Yes, of course it's a non self governing territory. The UK voluntarily placed the Falklands onto the list of non self governing territories. There was no change of sovereignty, the islands were British before being placed on the list, and they stayed British after being placed on the list. Just like every other British territory which has been on the list before.
