The WSJ reports that even if they get 60% it won't effect the lawsuits or collections so I don't know why they are bothering right now the markets are a mess and the ARG$/bonds are further depreciating. Argentinians are not known for their timing.

    JERRY.
Ignorant, my country is not in the broke, with or with out change of debt, with or with out reserves to pay our debt, all the payments for this year are assured, in fact we used along this year 1800 millions dollars of our reserves to pay the debt, and we allready recovered them, now we have more than 49 thousands millions dollars of reserves, if we want a new change of debt, that's mostly for our enterprises, they need credit in the inetrnational market with lower rates, and maybe the government in the future could need money from the international markets too, anyway even private stadistics say that it's not necesary.

Axel: At the rate CFK is spending (U$ 2B over income last quarter) and the upcoming debt payments of 13B it doesn't take very long to blow through 47B. It's not like you can go and write a check for that amount it is already spread pretty thin with other commitments there is probably only another 10-15B you could use before it would start to seriously effect currency, trade and economy.

Laugh, axel arg really really proves he's a che idiot. First of all your reserves were peanuts compare to the debt you owe the creditors exclude the interest. Second, your country is broke. do you understand that? I type it for you again, IT'S BROKE. Axel Arg is exactly like the Argentinian government who acts like a junkie not admitting that it has a problem. so long you don't admit you have a problem, you can't and never will solve it, but rathar live with the illusion that it's doing great. It's funny you constantly come up with “even private statistics show that the economy is growing”...Laugh..who's private statistics? yours? Give it up Axel..your economy/Argentine living of standard is as real like Disney World..laugh.

Actually, the standard of living in Argentina today is still very good, but at the rate that the government is spending and at the huge rise in cost of living, this standard is eroding daily!

Jerry, I would guess it would depend on who you ask because the slums in Retiro and surrounding BA are pretty bad and growing larger everyday.

Nicholas, is your govt. planing to invade another country? Argentina perhaps? It really frustrates me reading you, when between lines it says “I'm full of sh*t” hope some day you had something really important to say rather than Argentina's negative image.
Man!, yo're so bitter, you could use a candy from time to time. Live and let live, ANNOYING!

@Juanweather. Nice to see that your message changes from article to article. But you haven't said anything meaningful here. Just words then. But I agree with live and let live. So let's have Argentina ceasing to threaten the Falkland Islands, ceasing to wage economic warfare and ceasing to claim something that never belonged to it. All simple!! Argentina is, of course, full of shit as demonstrated by what they left behind in 1982, besides their military equipment. Toilets, bathtubs, beds, furniture full of or covered in shit. Where do you get these animals from? Buenos Aires?
Have you been educated? Have you got a brain? Are you capable of differentiating the truth from Argentine government propaganda?
If your next comment doesn't suggest thought, then it will be clear that you are just another mindless, brainless Argentine zombie.

well, I should change the messages, since we are in different articles, just common sense...you know?
Why, i wonder why you think we are threatening the falklanders? we are discussing, it's obious, as we have opposite claims, you should learn to live with that.
It's unquestinable and you know UK had nothing to do here in the Southern Hemisfere, lame decision of the junta to face all the world. Uk won a battle, but democracy will win the war.
I am educated indeed, hopefully in a few months i'll be a meteorologist (University of Buenos Aires), and even though politics is not my specialty i consider myself quite intelligent to distinguish truth from propaganda (by the way, not keen on CFK, and did not voted her).
Argentina is still recovering from the meltdown of 2001, and we are going towards to a faster progress, that is my belief.

    Juanweather che idiot,

Believe and knowing the reality are two totally different words and meaning. You believe it's going great, but if you, just for one day, do your homework about your country, you should come to the conclusion that they (your big spender socialist big & protectionist government) is simply lying to you and the rest of the clowns who follow their fake patriotism blind, not only about the Falklands Island (UK), but also about the economy by using, hedonics economics what is bogus economics. Second sir che idiot, argentina only grew by manipulating numbers, simple, you don't grow with high inflation and trying to hide it by simply manipulating the numbers..real poverty numbers are still around or above 40% of the population ( and still going up) and real inflation number is 30% or even higher...what is indeed a direct way of creating more poverty everyday (Your pesos are getting worthless and purchasing power is declining, plain and simple) If you call that progress, than you're a real che idiot as i type to your friends here (jihad jorge and axel the micky mouse professor)...laugh.

I can hardly recognise if some of you try to insult me or what. If you do, then put more effort on it and you may succed to offend me, because you see, insulting is not a way of making someone understand, in fact is way to show the lack of intelligence to communicate.
Please try something better than che idiot if you want to express yourself like a chipmunk.

P.S: We are working to be what Nicholas expects of Argentina. The world power that once was. Thank you for posting!

    NICHOLAS AND JERRY.
The american idiot (nicholas) says: axel arg is like the argentinian government who acts like a junkie not admiting that he has a problem.
Firstly a reactionary moron like will allways understand what you want, i have allways recognized the serious problems of my country, and the mistakes that our government made i told them to you many times, but i recognize all the achievements that we had in the last 7 years, i am not going to repeat everything again., read my comments one more time, and you'll see that you are wrong as usuall.
About the private stadistics, i believe in them, because most them are against the government, i allways heard the two sides of every history, that's something that you dont do, because you think that only your truth is valid, and underestimate the argumens of the rest of the people.
Sorry nicky, what your desperate wish of a new default for my country is just one more of your idiot illutions, it does not sorprise me if you and imbecill fred are the same guy, both repeat the same crap with out not even one line of objetivity, the only one thing you have is just resentment, only you know why, and i dont even care.
MICKY MOUSE PROFESSOR, GAY, QUEER, FAG AXEL HERRERA REYES.
JERRY: What you say is true, our inflation level is hight, but we have a rise in our salarys unless twice a year, that's why we dont loos our capacity to consume, anyway the government must do something to stop the inflation, the good point is that even private stadistics argue that we wont have a hiperinflation or a highter inflation level, because our central bank has enough reserves to dominate the price of the dollar, in fact we have a reocord of reserves since 2 years ago
    AXEL HERRERA REYES.

    @10 Juanweather.
On the question of threatening the Islands, I suggest you spend a little time going through a number of articles on this site and noting the comments of Argentine/South American posters. As far as your government is concerned, consider its actions in relation to the Islands over the last few months.
British presence in the Southern Hemisphere? There is insufficient room for everything. Let's stick to the Falklands.
    1. 1592 - British sighting by Capt Davis
    2. 1600 - Plotted by Dutchman Sebald de Weert
    3. 1690 - British landing by Capt Strong
    4. 1764 - First French settlement by de Bougainville
    5. 1765 - British landing by Capt Byron
    7. 1767 - French settlement handed over to Spanish control
    8. 1770 - Spain expelled British colonists
    9. 1771 - Britain allowed to return, but Spain reserved right to sovereignty
    10. 1774 - British colony abandoned but reserved right to sovereignty.
    11. 1820 - Recently-independent Argentina took possession
    12. 1831 - US declared the island “free of government”
    13. 1833 - Britain took possession from Argentina
    14. 1842 - Britain declared colonial administration
Note that when Argentina (or whatever it was calling itself) took possession, it was a rebel territory. When Britain reasserted sovereignty, that remained unchanged for 150 years. Also bear in mind that we are referring to an age of, by 21st century standards, poor communications. Instructions would depend upon the time taken for a ship to sail to and fro, including weather. Britain has every right to be in the Southern Hemisphere.
I'm glad to hear about your education. I'd say that puts you in your 20's. Nice of you to admit that politics, and presumably history, is not your speciality. I, on the other hand, am approaching three times your age. Do you think I may have acquired a little more knowledge, experience and so forth? Think about it?
