It is a nice gesture. I hope it is not exploited for any political purposes.

“Gesture” is a poor word for such a constructive political statement.

It is not a political statement at all.

Think, its B***** all to do with politics. and I hope will be seen by even the Arg press as just a decent gesture between profesional soldiers who once opposed each other. Thats the way it goes here when Arg veterans come and visit - and meet visiting British veterans - except that usually there is and Argie reporter lurking somewhere to try a twisted report , but in general they are meetings between ex combatants and zero to do with politics nor their current personal beliefs and most of us have no problem with that, even though it is difficult for us as your side remain so agressive towards us we are still prepared to show compassion and understanding where needed. There are plenty or Arg vets who probably need to return here privatley to lay their demons to rest.
It will be shame if this gesture is turned into a media circus by Argentiona - I hope it does not - but am not putting money on it!
You might note that agroup of Arg vets were present at our Liberation Service of Commemoration yesterday and thus paid their respects to the British dead.

Please, before you all jump over me, read the definition of “Political Statement”
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_statement
I know that for many of you politics and Sh** are synonymous.
    Not for me.
For me politics (as Law) is a fundament of society.

“Cool” is a meagre word for such a affirmative political statement.

Think - I had a look at that but couldn't see the word 'gesture', but then my eyesight is not what it was. And 'cool' has a huge depth of meaning for people of a certain generation, you shouldn't knock it.

And politics and shit are not synonymous ... politicians and shit on the other had :-)

Politics and law (or Law) are two completely different things!
Law is a system of rules, usually enforced through a set of institutions. It shapes politics, economics and society in numerous ways and serves as a primary social mediator of relations between people.
Politics is a process by which groups of people make collective decisions.

    Twink

You really should try looking up some definitions. Proper English ones, that is. But it's probably beyond your infantile understanding. Any chance you're out of school yet?

As for avargas, it only goes to show the mindset of Argentines. You must be a Peronist, i.e. a fascist. The world knows about fascists. You think you have the right to take something British? Well, you've tried. Hasn't worked yet. Just cost you corpses. Your government has just enough sense not to try it again. Britain was gentle the last time around. Posters on here have pointed out that you have no chance in the future. You can fume and display your ignorance as much as you want. Makes no difference.
