Argentina's much closer, and our teams (Hurlingham, Lomas Athletic, &c) would be happy of having you here. Question is if ours are up to standard. Not much is played here lately, I'm afraid...

Oops originally posted on the wrong article.

Argie seems to forget that last year the Falkland Islands Cricket Club was due to tour South America, after all sport shouldn't get in the way of politics. Pity Argentina didn't feel that way as they spat their dummy out and had the tournament stopped.

It was an ICC sanctioned tournament in Chile. The Chileans invited us and were keen for us to play. The Argentines said if we played they wouldn't. Like the kind people we are we did not wish to embarass our Chilean friends and withdrew, allowing the tournament to proceed.

Funny isn't it, when Bielsa became the Arg Foreign Minister with Nestor K. one of his first utterances on the Falklands was that in the long term interest Argentina had to make itself attractive to the people of the Falkland Islands. He then started listening to that silly old fart Garcia del Solar and for ever since Argentina has been doing exactly the opposite.

One day somebody will finally wake up with a brilliant new idea about being attractive............then we might see you at Hurlingham, but don't hold your breath...

Never mind, Argie. Move to the Falkland Islands. Live, and play cricket, with proper people.
