Looks like Argentina has really got the attention of the world's press this time!

How nice that Fernandez and Timerman “dismiss” the remarks of the brother of the previous majority shareholder.

Papel Prensa was a state company that was fraudulently acquired by David Graiver, who was a banker who managed “montonero funds”. Graiver was killed in a plane crash in 1976, in 1978 he was indicted for embezzlement by Manhattan DA Robert Morgenthau. Gravier's widow was imprisoned by the military junta, she was tortured in a nazi gestapo fashion, and forced to surrender all title and rights of Papel Prensa to Clarin and Nacion newspapers. The widow survived and has come forward to tell the story.
The president of Argentina, has moved in the right direction to recover state property that was twice fraudulently sold.
and the Argentine population supports her 100%, everyone else NOT in Argentina can take their media and shove it in the back end while you cry us a river.

2 avargas2001's comment,....is strictly one-sided, or should I say the Kirchner viewpoint. I suggest to anyone,.. to read around if you don't want the Argentine government's story.

But, gassy, according to your comment in http://en.mercopress.com/2010/08/26/mrs.-kirchner-confrontation-with-clarin-and-la-nacion-scares-investors#comments

“ I believe it will make everyone happy to know that Argentines won't be ignorant no more since we will be reading real news now, give it time guys we have to feed our minds with unbias news and information, all you people were upset because Argentine's where ignorant all that will change now.”

So you want the truth, don't you? So why would you want to penalise outside media outlets?

I'm sure if Argentina were to pretend it had WMDs, like Iraq did, then the surely history would repeat itself?

#5 I am not penalizing any media as a matter of fact I am voicing my support to penalizing anyone who breaks the laws (criminals) including their supporters, even if el clarin and la nacion are the biggest media outlet in Argentina, no one should ever be above the law, no matter who they are or how big, I don't like criminals, unless it is me, then I call it justice.

Your words from (4) “we the Argentina people also demmand US media outlets in Argentina to pay higher taxes and apply for a media licence and licences fee every month from now on, or licences will be suspended.”

Followed by (9) “ I don't like criminals, unless it is me, then I call it justice.”

What's wrong with media permits ?? USA and Canada has them, every civilized country has them, what wrong with you all ? is everyone in fear Argentina will become civilized and use politics the same way first world nations do, besides it's against the law to have a monopoly on anything.
