US has “permanent military bases” in Guantanamo and Falklands, says Castro
United States has permanent military bases in Guantamano (Cuba) and the Falkland Islands, but it is prepared and capable of setting up troops anywhere else in Latin America in “a matter of hours” said the ailing Cuban leader Fidel Castro quoted by the official press. Read full article

Laughable. Just proves the use of lies to perpetuate a strong resentment and suspicion of the Falklands to Latin America. But I am sure the Argentina will lap this up and use this as fact. Let's hope Think and his cronies can see past this. I have a feeling that Marco et al will some how laud this as proof of their beliefs on the Falklands. And it is nice that Castro used the name Falkland Islands, instead of the M word (unless MercoPress changed it).

“With respect to direct bases, they have Guantánamo, they have the Malvinas…And in the other countries, they might seem not to have them but in reality they do. They engage in practices and exercises. They don’t have any in Venezuela. Colombia is a country converted into a base. They have them in Honduras. They don’t have them in Costa Rica but they do have 40 vessels there, included aircraft carriers, ‘nobly’ helping in the war on drugs. It’s completely cynical…” added Fidel.

The old useless empire from Europe does, Malvinas is an old colony of this broke little empire, illegally occupied since 1833 and soon to be returned to the real owner in South America.

No. Be serious. They aren't supposed to know about the carrier battle group in the underground harbour, the B-2s and F-22s in the underground hangars, the SSBNs that lie on the bottom or the missile silos. Say nothing. Deny everything.
