United States astronomers have found a new, potentially habitable Earth-sized planet. It is one of two new planets discovered around the star Gliese 581, some 20 light years away, report the Carnegie Institution and the Santa Cruz, University of California. Read full article

    I assume that once Argentine astronomers have determined which part of the Earth was facing the planet, Argentina will claim it on the basis of interstellar proximity.

    I doubt that - the British and Yanks will be there first. Wonder if they will start drilling for oil immediately or if they will first attack the locals in search of weapons of mass destruction. What will the call the planet? The United States of Brittania
