Such resentment from some of our other South American friends. Even to compete at an international event's not bad from a population of a couple of thousand. Well they've done no worse than Argentina did at the Winter Olympics. And to think Argentina lays claim to most of Antarctica.

“Eyebrows were raised at the presence in New Delhi of a bowls team from the Falkland Islands – because there are no bowling greens in the Falklands.

Two New Zealanders who were born in the Falklands, and apparently still hold appropriate passports, have been entered in the men's pairs.

By contrast, Bowls Cyprus was denied the chance to enter a team, because their selected players – ex-pats all – were not deemed to be citizens of that Mediterranean island, which boasts four thriving clubs.

'Kaffir' is an offensive word of Islamic origin used to refer, by Muslims , to those who do not share their religion. The term was adopted by Dutch settlers in South Africa to refer to indigenous Africans. Interestingly 'Negro' is a derogatory term widely used in Argentina to refer to anybody perceived to be of the lowest social status, or dark skinned.

Alexei, sometimes “negro” is rendered as “grone”. Thunk should know, he knows all about these things, particularly since he comes from a country which continues to discriminate on the basis of race in its constitution.

I called the attention of many as 2,000 people underestimate to 40 million. I heard through d all comments of all the notes the most varied descriptions of the most diverse offenses. Perhaps intended as the first case in history in which 2,000 people change the way of life of 40 million Argentines. His disqualifying words about Argentina and the Argentine people causes me a great wake-up call about the kind of education and indoctrination based on ignorance, fear and hatred. Of which Mr. Patrick Watts is one of the biggest promoters. This is not good. The Islanders should ensure that their representatives are more moderate people. The large British community in our country, its progress, its traditions, lifestyle, in no case were affected by the mere fact of being in Argentina. You come to understand it? The facts are beyond the misinformation, fear and hatred. The large British community and the large number of tourists from Britain, do not feel the same as the islanders of the hard-line anti-Argentine.

About Carlos Escude, i answer what I answered when you cite the testimony of Simon Jenkins: It is only the personal view of it (which differ from most of the intellectuals of the issue) shows Argentina's democracy, where everyone can have their personal opinion . His vision, in my opinion, is highly subjective.
When I speak of representatives, not just talk about the councilors, but also people in their community better known as Patrick Watts. Besides, who was to be directed to Cristina Kirchner as the “Queen of Botox” or “plastic face”? There was someone who represented the island community?

It's because your government does not rely on factual evidence. Axel is a school teacher who is telling us he teaches the Falklands history to his kids at school, and he does not even know what day it is. Teaching all his kids a warped version of history. Your kids are taught “las malvinas son argentinas” from a young age.

One message that is permanently present in Argentine education is that the country has been deprived of huge continental territories during the 19th Century. In the Argentine texts, the loss of the Falkland Islands is added to the loss of great territories allegedly forfeited to Chile and Brazil, and to the loss of Bolivia, Paraguay and Uruguay in their entirety: these countries supposedly should have been “inherited” by Argentina from Spain.

19th Century gains are transformed into losses, while in the 20th Century, when there were no true losses or gains, an imaginary territory is invented.

When asked in a poll “Do you think that, throughout its history, Argentina has won or lost territories?” 86% of people said yes, these were of a university education. When the truth is that Argentina was under half it's size when it first came into being.

Are we taught such things here in the UK? No. The history of the islands is not even taught in british schools, the war is barely mentioned.

In his view should be taught in our schools that the Malvinas were, are and will be British, and the personal and subjective vision Carlos Escude should be in all the history books? Maybe we should ask him to the board of councilors of the islands and Alan Huckle, or queen of England that we write the history of Argentina.
We have our expert historians, they studied the subject deeply, and expressed in his writings. That you do not like what they say is another matter.
Discredit underestimate our teachers and students do not lead anywhere. Today we have available to different sources, and can read and have our own opinions.
Unless you think that we are “mindless zombies”, what you said has no basis.

f you use the correct terminology, the islands were not in the past a “country” and now are not. This is reality.
In Argentina on 2 April we celebrate the recovery of a territory, not the invasion of a country. A true patriotic gesture, which have not yet finished. Another reality.

That all depends on the definiton of country doesn't it. Usually a country consists of a soverign state, yet we have four countrys in the UK and only one soverign state.

It can also mean a smaller, political division. Which as the islands have there own local government would be classed as a country.

Unfortunately JPL, your historians all have a living to make, they will print and 'research' the falsehood to make it fit in with their market for books and careers, just like your politicians use the falsehood to fit their message, to remain in their jobs as politicians.
Your whole country lives the lie, and you find it comfortable to believe the lie, this is why it is taught, and why it is preached on every stage.
Even your politicians know that Argentina will never wield World power, so repeating the same lie at International level will not injure any efforts to be one, all that happens is that your country looks stupid repeating the lies, as everyone can see through them.
Your political elite is carving itself out a nest egg, it ridicules International Financial Institutions because it defaulted its responsibilities, and knows it cannot use that bridge to recovery because its already burnt, so pours fuel on the fire to spite itself.
Frankly, Argentina is a joke, but few of its citizens see this, and that is because of your flawed democracy, it is too corrupt, and its people would rather put their heads in the sand or whine as victims than do anything about proving facts.
It is a sad state of affairs.
