Britain is ramping up efforts to sell about 11 new naval vessels, including frigates, to the Brazilian Navy in a bid to catch up with marketing efforts launched by France and Italy, according to a recent article from DefenseNews. Read full article
Hmmmmm
Argentina should include some Brazilian naval cadets in the tripulations of our South-Atlantic patrol boats.......
That would made those vessels virtually unsinkable
Don't you Sink? :-))))))
Wouldnt suprise me, along with siting artillery amongst the Falklanders houses, using a Hospital ship to illuminate British forces

Q: How would you describe Argentina's President Néstor Kirchner?
A: I would describe Kirchner as a demagogue. I don't agree with the [Argentine government's] perception that [former President Carlos] Menem's policies were ultra-free market reforms. They were not. They were a smoke-screen for huge corruption and influence peddling, which naturally had very negative results. And that frustration has moved the Argentine people to turn from the Menem demagoguery to the Kirchner demagoguery. I'm afraid that the results will be equally catastrophic.
Vargas Llosa is an ultra-right-winger. He thinks a coup détat - that in Honduras against President Zelaya in 2009 - was justified because Zelaya was close to Chávez.
That he denies Menem's reforms were neoliberal, means only that Llosa won't admit that the free market could not only fail to solve a country's socioeconomic shortcomings, but even increase them.
Right after Kirchner took office, in 2003, Llosa predicted Argentina economy would quickly break - a prediction that undoubtedly failed. Whatever one thinks of Argentina - with its relatively high inflation - it is not on the verge of breaking today, 7 years after Llosa made the above prediction.
Demagogy or demagoguery (Ancient Greek: δημαγωγία, from δῆμος dēmos people and ἄγειν agein to lead) is a strategy for gaining political power by appealing to the prejudices, emotions, fears and expectations of the public—typically via impassioned rhetoric and propaganda, and often using nationalist, populist or religious themes. What qualifies as demagogy has been the subject of debate and ambiguity since Aristophanes first used the term, in reference to Cleon.[1]
Thanks to Gordon Broon and his bunch of idiots, the UK is lagging years behind in trying to recapture the UK a successful export base.
The Type 26 FF will be a world beater
The fleet will either stay about the same size minus the aircraft carriers for about 10 years, or will be shrunk by quite a lot so it would basicly be a 2 fleet navy an aircraft carrier with each six escorts plus the hellicoper carrier.
Fortunately, Britain will be keeping BOTH of its two new 65,600 ton carriers, the first of which is due to come into service in 2016. This follows the successful arguments of the First Sea Lord, Sir Mark Stanhope, and the forced recognition by the British government that the British people were not willing to see the Royal Navy weakened and in fact want to see it strengthened. In those circumstances, it makes a nonsense of thoughts of reducing the size of the Royal Navy. Public suggestions are being put forward to cut the welfare budget and fund both versions of the Type 26 frigate. It also being strongly suggested that the JSF is a poor choice for a carrier aircraft. It is understood that the government has already dropped the idea of purchasing the F-35B, recognising that it inappropriate for the new carriers. The suggestion that F-16E/F aircraft should be purchased has been discounted as they are old-style airframes. Recommendations are for a naval variant of the Typhoon with more powerful engines and the ability to carry more weapons.

Typhoon (18) .... Twanky is suggesting the Arg navy carry some Brasilian crew so the British wont attack their ships... it follows on from how they painted the red cross on legitimate military targets so they wouldn't get their sad and sorry arses kicked in 1982... didn't save them then... wont save them next time.
Mind you the use of the red cross is not without merit... easy matter to paint out the red bit when you shit your pants and ...having shown the white flag.. want to scuttle off home to hide behind your womenfolk
Bet they didn´t get it.
Instead, they are lolying about a fooly remark of another thread.
It`s known that in sports and humour, they have nothing. Not always like that, but decadence happens.
your just sitting there waiting to pounce , on the weakest thing that passes you. Your like hyenas, just not laughing, as soon as the Falklands back is turned, you will jump, you can never be trusted ?
Last night I was watching a documentary called The SS. It covered such animals as Adolf Eichmann, Josef Mengele and Klaus Barbie together with their escape to Argentina, and subsequently to other South American countries, where they, and other Nazi escapees taught the Argentine police and military all they knew.
It was also quite clear that the next step in Nazi plans will blossom in South America, with the headquarters of the Fourth Reich in Argentina.
This explains a great deal. The attempt to steal British territory. The same attitudes toward territory as Hitler displayed. Rule by decree with lip-service to democracy. The whipping-up of the mob. The desire to see Britain withdraw from the South Atlantic.
@35 No, sonny. We're not scared to death. But you have just added to the list of reasons for you to be a target. It'snot as though we care. After all, with the blood of so many millions on our hands (according to you) over the centuries, what's another 40-odd million?

Personally i prefer to keep both carriers.
To me carriers are just bigger targets, I think we need more subs and smaller, faster craft that can punch above their weight.

Britain already has an aircraft carrier in the South Atlantic, an unsinkable one, in a state of constant readiness.

I disagree totally. In the last falklands we would not have won without the carriers.
In every war the defining factor is air superiority and when 71% of the Earth's surface is water a floating air strip is priceless.
