“ ... The statements belong to Ambassador Antonio Patriota considered the most likely candidate to succeed Foreign Affairs minister Celso Amorim in the incoming administration of president elect Dilma Rousseff.....”

Sounds like he's trying to ramp up his job description :-)

well xbox, actually if you do your research, something you're good in I guess, you will stop thinking but know that plenty of Argentinians, Peruvians, Chileans, Bolivians and Paraguayans are going to Brazil legal and illegal for work. Matter of fact, Mr. Lula, a couple years ago legalized a couple thousand of them. Mercosur/Mercosul or not, it's cheap labor for his small business friends.

When you bother to comment about illegal immigrants in South America... why don't you bother to know the rules and laws?

Where do you have the Info that they are illegals?......From your good Brazilian friends?

Well, here is some news (2002) for them and for You.....
Below you can find Mercosur, Chile and Bolivia's treaty of free residence and movement for its citizens.

Below you can find Mercosur, Chile and Bolivia's treaty of free residence and movement for its citizens.

That doesn't mean they can live within the nation's border for free or without obeying the nation's laws. As far I know Brazil, Argentina, etc, still have their own laws, include immigration laws.

Illegal immigrants are people who cross a nations border without documents, or they have documents but stay between the borders of that nation without permission from that government. Not long time ago Brazil legalized a couple thousand of illegal immigrants, and believe Argentina did the same too.

Mercosul/Mercosur is an agreement for free movement of goods and it's people, but the people who want to stay in that nation that is a member of that organization, can be refused/send back/deported if they cannot stay for some reason.

down there, in south america, people not only speak Spanish like most bubble heads think, but also Portuguese, English, Dutch and French.

    Well.....

The basics of the treaty are that you can enter any of our Countries with only your official national identity card or whatever it is called.
You do not need a passport or a visa.
If you want to reside in one of our member Countries you must be able to provide for yourself.
The same basics as the EU......

But it seems that we will have to ask Mercosur to disregard its own treaties signed by six presidents and follow instead the analysis of an Dutch FidoDido......

And who said that “ Only Spanish is spoken down there in South America” ?

I just tried to avoid you asking me for an English or Dutch translation as you have done before.
