Venezuela's president Hugo Chavez announced that his country's oil reserves total 217 barrels, topping Saudi Arabia's and making them the largest in the world. Read full article
I think it would be fair to say that this man cannot be trusted, he will use this oil wealth, not for his people but to weld power in the world, and this makes him a dangerous man. It would also be fair to say that he hates the British, and loves Argentina, [leader only] with the arrogance of Argentina and the wealth and power of this man, violence could well be sooner rather than later,?????
First I want to make clear, I disagree with Mr. Chavez and his policies. Second, he was chosen by his own people. Mr. Briton, do you have any single proof that Mr. Chavez hates the British? Maybe he dislikes the British who follow the US like a puppy, rather than thinking and acting for it self. I'm sure he also dislikes retards who just spur nonsense. We outside Venezuela should mind our own business and let Venezuelans fix their own problems. Let's not pretend as we outside Venezuela care so much about their problems. Argentina may be an arrogant nation, but let them, and if they want to be friends with Mr Chavez, so be it. It looks like you are wishing for violence in that nation of Venezuela...do you? really? The good part is, thank god the UK doesn't matter anymore. I am also not going to pretend as if my country, Holland, matters, it doesn't and I don't care. All I care is about that my country has great relationships with all nations around the world and simply minds it own business. So please, stop acting as if the UK is one tough nation...it isn't.
for a man from holland you talk a load of shit, if you wish to call people retards, then think of yourself, it was only an opinion, he does dislike the uk, and he does like argentina, lighthartedly it was, so if any retards like you wish to make an opinion make it original or piss of,
6th biggest economy (GDP), 4th largest armed forces ..... not a super-power perhaps, but a power none the less.
However I agree, the fool Chavez appears to have the support of the majority so it's up to them. Provided they don't threaten anyone else - super-power, power, or the rest- then let them get on with it.
Of course if they do become a threat then .... well, I suspect the US would just love the opportunity :-)

Hi Fido Dido
And yet I remember back in 1944 when Holland seemed grateful that UK was one tough nation and saved their sorry Dutch arses from Nazism. I have no particular views on Chavez but he was extremely rude about the UK and therefore we feel we can be equally rude back. We don't need either your permission or approval.
Yes, Think @ #8, I understand Mr Chavez has really BIG barrels, but it's not how big they are ;-) ..... it's what you do with them.
So far, the poor Venezuelan people have been told about them nightly on all television channels but have yet to see them for themselves in their true glory.
As the millions of poor of Venezuela keep repeating in the privacy of their homes, SHOW ME THE MONEY
So once again two different opinions, one from normal bloggers, and one from idiots, [why idiot] because hypocrites are all brain dead or stupid,

this blogg posted by mercopress, and answered by bloggers, so we do have a right to pass comment, if you disagree then you should not be here, but back in Argentina living in the past, and no much how you all try to change the subject, you still wont get the Falklands, see you on the other blogg, argies bargies , ?????????
Originally Chavez was voted in by the people. At the moment his popularity is waning and his time as leader is under threat. He is doing as much as possible (legally and illegally) to remain as leader. A dictator in the making. It is odd that he is proclaiming that the oil find is one of his 2010 accomplishments and not one for the country (or am I reading too much into this?). Either way, it seems like he is trying to boost his popularity with the voters.
