I daresay some (one of more) might aspire to the “rags to riches” story of the Kirchners rise to power in Santa Cruz, and then to replicate that in the Casa Rosada and turn the thousands into millions of dollars - at the cost of the impoverished or less well off fellow citizens. Now there's the rich class, but tainted by greed, mistrust, and if not bullying. So, no thanks I prefer what the Falklands has to offer, today, tomorrow, next week, next year and next century.

#2 we don't want the fakland that is a british company, we want Islas Malvinas to be free from illegal british occupation, I don't recalls Governor Vernet or the Argentine people voting for a british governor do you#2.

This poverty is the reason Argentina should keep and increase the EXPORT TAX, imagine all this people not being hable to pay for bread or meat ! taxes are good we pay 26% for gas tax in Canada we pay 14% in regular taxes on everything else, and we get at least 100$ every month from tax ckickbacks, I wonder why the export tax is a problem for cargill's workers, I am sure this problems can be fixed with an agrarian reform, to redistribute the land maximize output and keep more capital vested in Argentina.

I - you are not exactly the sharpest knife in the draw are you!

Redistribute the land, to who. Do not the farmers legally own the land? Perhaps Argentina should take the Mugabe approach to land redistribution? Increase export taxes? What a ridiculous suggestion that is. Increase in tax will reduce employment in order for the farmers to make sufficient money to pay their workers and enjoy the fruits of their labors. Oppressive tax systems reduce the number of farmers as they move to other industries/regions. Result = reduced productivity and further upward inflationary pressure.

But I suppose accepted economic models don't work in Argentina. Now who said that?

And i dont think you're new bed fellows in China and Russia will be too happy to accept an export tax hike, exports account for a massive amount of income...kinda shooting yourself in the foot dont you think? But you know if we actually took islands that were once argentinean, then id feel obliged to give them back, but since there was no Argentina or an indigenous population, theres no moral reason to hand them back as with other commonwealth countries.

Cristina will say that these are lies, she denies everything inconvenient. They'll give those people some money and some votes, and they will tell those people to vote for Cristina, that's why they need all these poor people to be poor for life. Cristina's never seen a poor, she only sees votes, she thinks that Poor is some kind of rice porridge while she travels the world with his daughter doing nothing.

#9 economic model only work in controled environments, you should read up the meaning of “ceteris paribus” a corrupt state can't be predicted, I don't know of any wealthy country that doesn't have taxes, I might be wrong, sadly you might waste your time looking for one, octually I can tell you of a kingdom that got built and still thrives today using the taxes of their subjects to pay for military armys protecting land thefted in Malvinas Argentina in the 1800's, you are suffering the classic britiard symthom do as I say not as I do.
#12 brits like to brag about knowlege, democracy, progress and BS, can you please tell us after Luis Vernet became governor of Malvinas Argentina whom voted for british rule, what legitimacy if any did this squatters have to choose a government ?? because I am thinking of going back to Argentina and grabing myself a lot in barrick gold mines in San Juan, Argentina, let me know I am interested in knowing how british pirats do this.

Well, just back and I have to read all this crap????

1- The photo its fake as its from Brazil I saw it before like this one from Sao Paulo http://www.spraguephoto.com/stock-photography-image/18908/Aldeia-Tekoa-Pyau,-a-Guarani-Mbya-indigenous-slum-settlement-on-the-edge-of-Sao-Paulo.-The-name-means-'village-in-the-process-of-recognition'.-Typical-dwellings.
None noted the topography back to the family and that the family is Brazilian????
2- Ecolatina AKA the son (Marcos Lavagna) of Lavagna (Duhaldista) ex minister of economy during Duhalde presidency, future minister of economy if he wins the next elections and achy enemy of the K.

3- 31.8% of people under the line of poverty its absurd as UK is in Asia. 12,72 m poor close to the population of Buenos Aires. How they arrived to that figure? Have they done a private census? I guess not, this cost some millions dollars that Ecolatina doesn’t have.

    BTW Hello Shepherds,

Have you been taking care of the sheep?

    Good boys

    @Fredmex

As usuall more and more omitions and misinformation, what that report by ecolatina omits, is that in 2003, the porcentage of poor people in the country was 53%, i dont deny that we are still a very unequal society, but in 8 years, is not going to change absolutly the situation of the 25 years of neoliberalisem, and absence of the state.
Beside, it's important to signalze that ecolatina belongs to former minister lavagna, who is an enemy of the k, i woudent take as a serious source.
There are other statal indexes, belonging to other provinces, that reject the manipulations by the official indec, which affirms that the porcentage of poor people is 23%.

    Jan 25th, 2011 - 03:08 pm - Link - Report abuse 0

OMG you people are incredible. You know INDEC has under -reported accumulated inflation by 80% over the last few years. Do you think they also under reported poverty? Are you people really that dumb?

Some morons understand only what they want, i wont mention then, because it does not worth.
Of course that i dont believe in the indec, i only invoked about idependent indexes belonging to other provinces, which reject the official indec, beside, indec says that the porcentage of poor people is 13%, and independent indexes say it's 23%, now my question is, ¿who is the true dumb?, think it please, if you can.

1- Do you have any kind of understanding problem?

I currently live in Buenos Aires I’ve never said “I’m living in UK” else I said “I was” living in London and travelling around. During 2 years and I went to UKI others times for holidays and to visit friends that’s all.

2- Sorry to disappoint you and to bring down your illusion about “Argies cleaning toilettes and cleaning up houses”. But a never have done any physical work to make a living. What can I do?

In all my years living in Europe I never met and Argie doing that but I found Americans selling things door to door in northern Italy to survive and others playing Ponzi scheme trick like the Herbalife, cheating Polish and Hungarian in London.

3-“Why are you are trying to compare the richest country in the world”

USA is not the richest country in the world anymore, since long time ago. This is an illusion, in fact USA is already broke if would be a company.

Its liabilities are 10 times its GDP and growing faster and your external debts has grow 1 trillion since 2 month ago. http://www.usdebtclock.org/ total external debt 14 trillions.

The capital that used to finance your fiesta now is flying away from US to China, India, Brazil, Russia and all emerging economies.

In future years your presidents whoever will be will be begging to sell US treasures to avoid total collapse.

So do you know the tale “what easy comes easy goes”?

The American dream is gone long, long time ago today is the Chinese dream and you have to start to understand that as soon as possible. Before you have to send your CV in Spanish to a Mexican company to find a job.

The worse example of poverty I have ever been exposed to is in Missiones. I unfortunately left the resort while visiting Iguazu. We went downtown to see if there was anything going on. It was DISGUSTING, filthy and I mean FILTHY FILTHY shoeless children in rags begging in the streets and the cafe I was in. We also visited an Indian Reservation, the inhabitants took us around the jungle and told us how they catch their food and that they were very grateful for the Germans who provided a schoolhouse and teachers. These people only had 1 hut with electricity! Obviously no way to wash clothes and you could see they were all donated by the USA because all the t-shirts had US slogans from the 90s. No hospital, no running water and they just ate whatever the caught!
It was so depressing and awful I had to get out of there quick.

#36 I don't really know or care to know what sudaca means to you, unlike you and your friends, I work for a living and pay taxes, not only that but in Argentina I can get rid of you for the cost of a gram of blow, I don't need to steal when I can fill my needs and wants with what is mine, I don't need a visa, I don't have any use for it, if the brits in the Malvinas Argentina don't need a visa why would I want one ?? I live here, and I don't sweep floors, like many of the visual minorities british brings to canada to rape and sodomize, while they come here to care for their children, you know what is not cool about Canada and USA that teens can go out a prostitute in the same corner the police drinks coffe and eat pizza, yet you come here to trash people for being poor, we know your kind and you are not welcome or wanted, sad little boy, you are a shame to of the gay community.

I, are you anonymously threatening my life in a public forum? You are a lot dumber than I originally thought and that is really saying something!

    @ lsolde

Fred said “The worse example of poverty I have ever been exposed to is in Missiones”
    You said
“fredbdc, ands thats what they've got planned for us if they were ever able to take over the Falklands.”

    I said
“You will be lucky to be like poor Misiones, compared with your Island is a superpower don’t be silly. Do you?”

And you are absolutely right about the cultural center seem the architect was thinking in Alcatraz before he start to is his CAD.

About the music, well you can try also this in Misiones

    Skepticism surrounds Argentina poverty figures

    @FredMex

This not a middle class neighbourhood as the journalist says is a shantytown the same that you like show every time you can.

Comparable with yours in super power US

If you see the faces there with the exception of 2 or 3 people the rest is not Argentinean else poor recent arrived migrant from others neighbouring countries.

Here and example a Mapuche from Chile forced to take asylum in Argentina for political persecution from Chile’s govt. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oqn8uRzOvGg

So the wonderful countries, friends and praised by America as the good model to follow expulse their poor people to Argentina and we pick up them.

Like will happen to you when America hit floor and collapse Fred.
    Where can you go eh!?

UK forget it you would be illegal and they only will admit you for a holidays trip after you can prove that has enough money to stay.

France? The same, Italy? Permesso de soggiorno required and a contract from an employers. Germany? You will be illegal there and would be hard for you to get a job.

Spain? Even the Spanish can get a job there.

I don’t think you speak Mandarin so forget China.

The list is short, Canada to clean Canadian toilets, Mexico to work in a bar, Brazil to sell tickets for the carnival in Rio or Argentina to sell leader stuff to tourist in Florida street.

See you soon, BTW I need to buy a new wallet how much for it?
