    yes welcome to Argentina, at least someone want to visit us President Kirchner may well say, interestingly he did not mention the British Falklands, but then again, if you was visiting someone you admired, would you wish to be a thorn in her side ? , but no doubt Argentina will read far to much into this visit , as long as she don’t get her hopes up she just may scrape through,

    No mention of the FI ... strange ..... unlikely in fact. Maybe these pages just failed to mention it!

    The FI issue is a tiny matter as compared to the overall economic and political importance of Argentina to Brazil. It wouldn't be surprising if the meeting doesn't address the FI at all, unless Argentina insists otherwise.

    “to discuss expanding cooperation in the fields of .........nuclear energy, social development projects, digital technology .... ”

    I guess that will take in the Ezieza aquifer, Villa 31, and the derelict Grundig building at Ushuaia....

    Brasils relationship with Argentina is already on the level of France and Germany.What should concentrate minds around here was the meeting in Santiago this week of nine ministers from Argentina and Chile which seeks to put this relationship on the same level.Chiles foreign minister went out of his way to emphasize that they fully support Argentina in its rights to the Malvinas.Part of the discussions in BA it seems will be about the. joint development of nuclear powered submarines.

    Pres Rousseff arrives at aeroparque at 1100, flies out at 1600..... given how Jorge Newberry functions that will give about 30 mins for lunch with the Botox Queen.... hardly much time for 'in depth' discussion about the menu let alone anything else.

    But Dilma will be able to put a tick next to Argentina in her diary.......

    So we sailed on to the sun,
    Till we found the sea green,
    And we lived beneath the waves,
    In our nuclear submarine,

    We all live in nuclear submarine,
    nuclear submarine, nuclear submarine,
    We all live in nuclear submarine,
    nuclear submarine, nuclear submarine.

    And our friends are all aboard,
    Many more of them live next door,
    And the band begins to play.

    We all live in nuclear submarine,
    nuclear submarine, nuclear submarine,
    We all live in nuclear submarine,
    nuclear submarine, nuclear submarine.

    I think I could see how any discussion on the Falklands would go:

    Kirchner: “now we must discuss Brazil's approach to the Malvinas, we want active support from you, not just words as in the past”
    Rousseff: “Ahem....cofftradesurpluscoff....”
    Kirchner: “OK...let's move onto the next item”

    ;o)

    Don't know about Grundig, Frank, but I thought the Eleiza aquifer was certified as uncontaminated by anthropogenic radioactive isotopic materials - at least it was in 2008.
    Wrt Villa 31 - Dilma will certainly be able to swap stories about favela/villa life. This is one common theme across South America but probably the nut hardest to crack.
    I think they might talk about drug-dealer elimination in shanty-towns but I doubt they will find time to address urban planning, building standards and urban infrastructure.

    I think both Brazil and Argentina could benefit from a nuclear defence program, the defence indutry around the world created a lot of jobs from this trades and invest bast amount of capital, I don't hear many nuclear weapons indusrty going bankrupt.

    more nuclear weapons that are built, the more likely a war will happen.
    the west hopefully will reduce theirs, and others will follow,
    Einstein once said it is not weapons that kill, its humans,
    weapons are just a tool ?

    I just wonder... what for Briton is the west? [explain what you mean]
    merely the truth, more countries that have them, the more chance it will happen. If you are referring to [who is the west]
    this stems from the cold war, the west would include France , great Britain and the U S A ,the nations that have nuclear weapons, the uk government is already reducing hers, the Americans are in agreement with Russia to reduce theirs to under 2,000 each I think,
    hopefully others like china, India Pakistan and Israel may or may not follow, all I can say is, if they are ever used, it could possibly see the end of mankind as we all know it today,
    so lets all hope the powers that be, reduce and eventually get rid of them all, just my opinion ,

    @Briton,

    The concept of west started in the times of the Ancient Greeks when they named all to their right (what is today western Europe) Occidin/Occidine and later the Romans turned into Latin as occidens what we call now occidente in Spanish, occident in English, etc.

    So we are occident (the West) all the culture and heritage left by the Romans. The western Christian/Roman civilization.

    And also geographically we are in the “West” as we are placed in the Western Hemisphere.

    http://www.thefreedictionary.com/occident

    The yanks have all wrong in their mind they never were good for geography, history and that kind of stuff.

    They still believe that they have invented the Car, Hamburgers, Pizza, Salsa (dancing stuff), the jeans and the West.

    Nuclear capabilities will increase in the world as a balance of power. Do you think that US would have attacked Iraq if they have Nukes capable to reach US?

    So I go for everyone to have some nukes just in case.

    some people here get it wrong, they think Argentine need weapons to attack, but this is the oposite we need nukes to deffend Argentina from UK occupation, if history serves us better britain tryed this once before but yet they believe we attacked them in 1982,
    I don't remember any boats going to UK in 1982, I guess they forgot Argentina 1806-1807, sometimes I wish I could take back every mistake I made, doesn't everyone ? but I doubt brits will let us forget the mistakes they made, we got rid of them in the mainland but the internet brought them back in our face, isn't it ovious we are under threat and need a nuclear deffence program just in case the internet pirats get colonial trigger happy. Nuclear “DEFFENCE” programs are not a threat to anyone, IT IS A THE RIGHT TO ANY NATION UNDER THREAT, OR OCCUPATION. I believe in a world where the 100000 tanks and 1000.000 guns of opression will be replaced by a sinlge nuclear missiles of libery security and freedom, what better way to save the planet then to invest all our limited resources in a lot more farming equipment rather then many tanks and guns, why invest in millions in military when we can buy a single nuclear missile to secure pease, how can anyone argue this position ???

    35 NicoDin , thank you, I did not wish to go back that far, but that’s ok.
    /////////////////////////
    as for , if you have nukes all will respect you, and no one will attack you,
    sadly this is and will become a false prophecy
    let me explain
    the uk, has nuclear weapons, this did not stop Argentina from attacking the Falklands,, [you may reply the Falklands is not the British mainland]
    now try that same attack on say Hawaii, and see what happens,
    further, if Iran gets unclear weapons and the means to fire it,
    in their own words they will attack Israel, , if extremist ever get hold of Pakistanis unclear weapons, then god help all of us,
    as I have said before, and this is true, its not the weapons that is the danger, they will only wipe out the human race] its whoever’s finger [human]
    is on the button, , put simply if a civilised man is in charge then you have less that one percent of him using it, [safeguards in place]
    but if you have a madman’s finger on the button, then you have a 90% chance of seeing a giant mushroom in the sky, this may all be irrelevant
    it will purely depend on what one believes will happen,, some people think it will, some people think it wont, ??????

    @briton

    And do you think that the nukes under the fingers of the yanks make you safer than in the hands of the Chinese, Russians, Cubans, NK, Iran, etc.?

    Tell me who from that list has used Nuclear weapons against other nation?

    Yes only US, can you imagine US with riots on the streets, in default desperate to hold an empire falling?

    Well wait and you will see and especially when the nukes will be in the hands of US’s politician like this.

    To important thing to remember there is president Dilma Rousseff seems to know where she is standing.
