They should use those bored to death tourists to locate Marine Alan Addis, believed to have been killed by locals, who then burned his body and dumped his remains in a shallow grave.

This is something really nice to read and there're always some idiots who come and say something inappropiate just because they live in a poor and corrupt country and don't like seeing other nations being successful.
Seriously guys, if you don't have something nice to say you should STFU and GTFO.

#14 the problem is that some retards here think Malvinas Argetine is a nation but there is no nation just an Argentine Island the same with a few other island occupied by british illegal aliens. we have the same problem in america with Mexicans who cross the border and take USA jobs, there is always two sides to a story, the problem is that none of them want to see the other side, I guess by now you know exacly what I mean.

I(diot) - the Falkland Islands are not a nation ..... yet! For now they are a part of a nation ... the United Kingdom. They have never been a part of your nation. What the future holds is up to the islanders .... no-one else!!

Funny that the only countries which claim the Falklands are part of Argentina are Latin American ones eh I? Does anybody else say they are an integral part of the republic?....... nope....not even the UN.

Illegal aliens.....must be the oldest illegal aliens on the planet, 180 years I.... isn't that quite a bit beyond the average human life expectancy ya fanny?

Heres another one....what do you call white people in south and North America...illegal aliens no less?

Well done Dumbkampf with such idiotic logic you've just de-legitimized your own right of existance in America!

    Now for something positive....

    @3 Marcos

“believed to have been killed by locals, who then burned his body and dumped his remains in a shallow grave.”

“Believed”, nothing found & nothing proven, eitherway 1 in 20 years + I think is a pretty good record.

Amazing how off topic and low you'll go to rake up dirt.

” The results of a study carried out by The Latin American Technological Information Network (RITLA) have shown that the region has the highest murder rates in the world for people aged between 15 and 24.

Among the findings, published in November, RITLA concluded that the murder of a young person in Latin America is 30 times more probable than in Europe and 70 times more probable than in countries like Greece, Hungary and the UK.”

  • M_of_FI

    @3 - Marco
If that was a murder (I say if because it was never proved), that would be how many murders in the 2 hundred years the Falklands has been around? Not many, probably less that the number murdered in BA on one day. But how would you class the murders at Port Louis? As the murderers were from Argentina??? Therefore the majority of murderers in the Falklands have come from Argentina. Coincedence? Nah, I dont think so!

Marco, you really are grasping at straws. It is easy to see the desperation in your words! Please continue to make a fool out of yourself. Until the next time Marco!

#16 you are right not a nation just a company , I am glad we are getting somewhere, now Luis Vernet was the governor of Malvinas in 1833 when illegal aliens arrived from UK in Malvinas as far as I know illegal aliens don't have any legitimate right to the land, they have the right of determination wich mean they can determine if they want to go back to UK or apply for an Argentine citizenship, or just get a 3 month visa that is how things are done in this side of the world. if you don't like it you are free to go back home, that is how your rothers in USA treat Mexicans, what's the matter are you too good to be treated the same ??
#17 I think UK prime minister said UN was irrelevant and I agrees, doesn't matter what they say, or do you live your life in fear of what people say ?
#18 the same day UK asks us for the kelpers who will one day join them.
#19 we don't eat meat because we can afford meat, beside fish is for pirats.

#20 if you are between 15 and 24 why don't you come to Latinamerica and save tax payers in your area the waste in public utility you have become ? if I had that data about the people I stole land from I wouldn't stay in their land, if they do this things you pointed out to themselves imagine when they get a hold of you and your family ?? I guess some people like sleeping with one eye open.

It's alright I. There''s no difficulty about how your children will be treated in the Malvinas. That's because there's no such place. Whatever you ignorant dagos want to call our territory. And they won't be allowed there anyway. The ecology of the Falkland Islands is very important. No sense in letting bacteria in!

Ok, ok... seems like there're nitpickers too... “and don't like seeing a self governed British overseas territory being successful” does this sound better?...

#27 Ehhh... no :/ There were British, French and Spanish settlements before 1833, though the French had to leave because, according to the Treaty of Tordesillas, Falklands belonged to Spain. Before leaving, the British left a plaque to affirm their claim and so did the Spaniards. I don't see this as “Pirates stole our islands” they just came back. Don't say 'everyone'...

Bleh... I'm tired of this... All the Argentines can recite their arguments to claim the islands, I just have two words to say “acquisitive prescription”, and don't come and say that the British didn't take the islands pacifically... that's a lie.

    Bye.

#30 The problem is that the bacteria is already in Malvinas Argentina, now Argentina needs to get this filth out, didn't BP tought retards anything ?? Fido- they come from all over. that day the majority were from US, 2nd biggest was UK and then everywhere including over 100 from Argentina - and it may surprise you to know that even they get the same polite service and treatment - so long as they dont act silly and very few ever do.
It depends on the ship, and where it advertised. eg a few days before the British flagged and registered P&O Aurora on a world cruise was in - 90% of the 900 odd were British- oh MartinFierro and the S-American blockade, she sailed here straight from Buenos Aires by the way. Others that come from Ushuaia and then to the Antarctic and advertise in Germany - naturally most will be Germans. If USA - then mostly Americans aboard etc.

#57 you are right there is nothing we need to do the world is conditioned to need that oil disperately some time in the next decade, and we have enought time to figure out a way to draw a nuclear deffence program into Argentina from any overpopulated nuclear power, I heard the meat prices are sky rocketing and soy is sky high, pretty soon hungry people will trade anything even nukes for a loaf of bread, does Egypt ring any bell ??

Kiwi - posts should be in English, try harder next time.

I - why would Russia be interested? They are an oil exporter with new pipelines going to China. Why would China be interested? They buy oil from Russia, will be buying oil from Mongolia in the next few years. Neither of these nations care about Argentina or it's delusional claims. If oil production does emerge from the Falkland Islands then it may go to China by te fact that they purchase it with royalties and taxes going to the FIG.

Russia and China see links with the UK as far more important and my visits to both of these nations has not made me think otherwise.

Oh, some wikileaks novelties on Argentina. I... couldn't... care... less.

    As for this:

“No - read it AGAIN TIT - the yanks discussed giving precise numbers of warheads to the Russians and it was that that did not receive permission from
    the British Government!”

No, but as I said, they did give the missiles' serial numbers - something that, according to Professor Malcolm Chalmers “appears to be significant“ and ”over time, the unique identifiers will provide [Russia] with another data point to gauge the size of the British arsenal.“

And hey, don't shoot the messenger. Those are not my words.

As for oversensitivity being a Latin problem: well, have you seen how your countrymen are reacting to the news on the Telegraph website? This is how:

”what happened to our special relationship then ?“

”Past time for the so called “Special Relationship”to be finally buried. Just look back to the US position when the Falklands war broke out.................who needs “Friends” like those running the USA.“

”Enoughs' enough .. We are daily spending millions and losing lives supporting the Americans in their ill found ventures in Irak and now Afghanistan .. All because Bush wanted to kick asses after 7/11 .. leave our so called two timing US 'friends' to it and use the money to take care of our own country !”

So much for British cold mindedness.
But then again, wikileaks had already revealed before how insecure the Americans think you are. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/wikileaks/8180709/WikiLeaks-Britain-mocked-by-US-over-special-relationship.html

I was born here mate and my British passport seems to be acceptable to all the authorities who've seen it (even Argentinian ones) but what the hell?....if you really want to believe in your little fantasy about us being illegal aliens then you should lobby your government to evict us, or if they can't do that (which they can't) then you'd better take your case to an international court....I'll wait for the summons I(mbecile).

“The fact that the Americans used British nuclear secrets as a bargaining chip also sheds new light on the so-called “special relationship”

Well, if you consider that Obama sent bust of Winston Churchill back to Britain and his grandfather was tortured by the British that may explain that his Gov. doesn't care much about that ”special relationship”.

Oops, I guess I got someone nervous. :)

“The relationship goes through ups and downs, but it'll do....... makes us strong and you weaker !”

Yeah, I can see how strong the UK will be after Russia gets to know more about your nuclear arsenal with US help. And yes, red ho, the whole world can see how precious and useful the “special relationship” is... to the US. Even the conservative Telegraph concludes that the relationship is “shown often to be a one-sided affair” on the US diplomatic cables published thus far. That somehow you can still come up with excuses to dismiss US treachery illustrates something that is well-known about the UK: and this is not British people's composure; it's UK politicians' poodle syndrom. :)

And btw, “banana republics” are small countries that are susceptible to being bossed around by greater powers. (Menachem Begin, a former Israel PM, once stood up to Reagan's demanding requests by saying that Israel is not a banana republic.) So you should revisit the question of who really is a banana republic (or monarchy): independent, nationalistic South American nations or... you.

Regarding your assumption that the UK is a failed empire. If this was the case then why was the British Empire the largest empire to ever exist? Why cannot Argentina get it's grubby hands on a group of Islands a few hundred miles of it's coast. Why is Argentina powerless to stop the oil exploration?

The diference is marcos is that every british poster here absolutly and categorically disagrees with what happened to the chagossians and supports there return completely, While all argentinians actively support taking away the islanders human rights, while criticizing us over the Chagossians.

I'd also like to point out(again) that the Chagossians do not have there Self Determination taken from them, it is a different breach in human rights entirely.

It really is about time that people learnt the definition of certan words.

Macros for example, supporting the human rights of islanders being taken away while at the same time going on about giving the Chagossians there human rights and all the time while calling someone else a hypocrite is a massive hypocrisy in itself.

“Argentina knows where they can find the WMD, they even stated it to everyone.

in that case why are you advocating it over the Falklands...nugget!

Well done Morecrap....now whose the hypocrite...nugget brain :)

I will lecture you about self-determination....because Argentina seemingly thinks it is not applicable to territories she wants.

Self-determination is enshrined in international law (unlike your fantasy law that forbids the Islanders to have a normal economy)....and is applicable to all peoples and territories worldwide.....

Seemingly Argentina has issues with this international human right but only over the Falklands....

which is unsurprising because they stand in the way and are actively preventing Argentina from achieving its cherished goal of southern cone expansion and thus controlling mineral reserves and strategic waterways.....

And this is terribly amusing because Argentina claims to be a great democracy which holds human rights and international human rights and law close to its heart.

And yet this so called “democracy” in Argentina refuses to acknowledge that people whose society and culture has co-existed and run parallel in terms of democratic and social development to hers....

Are not worthy of recognition in her eyes, for the crime of inhabiting territory that she wants....and wants like a spoilt petulant spiteful child...

The UK with over 1,000 years of political, social and democratic evolution is far better placed to lecture the world about self-determination than a jumped up little republic with delusions about worldwide importance.

Diego Garcia my funny little jestor, you don't care about its people or their plight, only how you can exploit their suffering to get one over the UK posters here. And how you can use it as a blue print for your own morally bankrupt scheme for the Falklands.

    Symptoms of CJD
Early symptoms of the disease include changes in personality, depression and loss of interest in life.
After a while, other symptoms will include:
    loss of honesty
problems with movement, especially of the mouth
problems seeing or hearing the truth
Rudeness irritating and imagining they own things .they do not.
Saying silly remarks , and forgetting who they are.
Incontinence. Use of hands instead of paper.
Eating to much south American beef. [contaminated]
Crying over the loss of the falklands,by the hand of god
Thinking they are still a world power, they never win

#114 did you see the game lastnight 2-1 Argentina Brazil, good game and even better second goal, Brazil also played good they had a fast offencive, the handball by the golley almost costed Argentina the game. among other things Cuba and Mexico get over 10.000 visitor in a day during peak seasons, I guess attracting 6000 tourists in an illegal alien colony is a good thing, it should be headline news to the new lows of the planet, if things keep going this way Egypt, UK and saudi arabia could be taken down by their own people soon.

“The UK with over 1,000 years of political, social and democratic evolution is far better placed to lecture the world about self-determination than a jumped up little republic with delusions about worldwide importance”

And I say huahaaaaa haha haha haha haa ha

Britain is a new thing in this world you forgot about the Greeks, Romans, Spanish, Germans, French, etc. Older than you in fact you become civilized after the Exercitus Romanorum (Roman Army) from Spain conquered you and bring to Grande Britannia, parliament, roman common law, bath, Christianity, alphabet, drains, aqueducts, etc, etc, etc.

I just wonder where is the worldwide importance of UK on these days, any road map please?

And don’t ask for Scotland, Wales, etc.

1-Well let’s see a nation that fails docking her frigate in Uruguay, Brazil, Venezuela, due to Argentina diplomacy in the region.
2- Members of her own commonwealth supporting and voting for Argentina against her influential power.
3- Member of EU with same status of influence as Spain or Portugal.
4- Her best loving ally with special relationship that makes “Hombrito” shoulders up and say Malvinas, Malvinas, well you are on your own mate is not our problem, try with the Argies.
5- Its supposed best ally US calling France the strong ally and strong Friend in Europe.

    ///////////////
Im afraid you are wrong here old chap.
Germany was not unified until the late 19th century,
France , the Romans went through Gaul not France, and again we were invaded by Normans years later, not the French, France thus did not exist at that date, who’s next ah the Spanish, yes you got this one right in part, before it was invaded by the Goths and vandals and then the moors, so I will give you that one,
As for the Romans and Greeks you are right again, but your point is irrelevant, you forgot
Egypt Babylon and a few others from the past, and even Ethiopia but the fact remains that great Britain, or Britannica [that’s what the Romans called the islands] , is still over 2,000 years old, and Argentina is still under 150 years old, so your whole point is thus irrelevant,
    But keep trying,

    @briton

From what source do you get your historical information? Daily Mirror perhaps?

Enlighten me please what political entity known as the “United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland” existed 1000 years ago? This is the real name of your nation if you are not aware of. Do you?

What democracy was in Great Britain 1000 years ago?

None, mate is just a new thing like Argentina with 210 years of history since its creation in 1801 through the Acts of Union 1800/1801.

Great Britain is not the same as what actually is today UK of GB and Northern Island. Like England or Scotland or Wales is not the same as UK or UKGBNI.

So to be right you have to take the last new political entity if you want to compare UK and Argentina or whatever other modern nation, Newbie!.

Or we have to go to the times of the Ostrogoten (Germanic population with traced documentation since 100BC) The Tobas, The Francos, The Gauls, etc.

And what is a Briton after all?

Easy a Spanish/Gallego mixed with Italians who speaks funny old French/Spanish and thinks he is German. Pretty Latin for my taste. Don’t you think so?

    Good try but for doomies.

I don’t know what make you think that I’m Spanish to start with or that we Argies are Spanish????
We speak Spanish but not necessary means that all have Spanish ancestors. And the big migration of Spanish speaker here was from Galicia (Gallegos or Gaelic Celtic population from Northern Spain relatives of the Scots and Irish 70% of the total Iberian Peninsula descendent stock) Basque (They are not Spanish 10 % of the total population) Catalonia (They don’t consider themselves Spanish) none of then is Spanish as an Scottish is not English either.

Your father is Spanish - Romanus the guru said...
My father is Briton- Romanus repeated Red...
Your father is Spanish -Romanus, but the husband or your mother is Briton-Romanus the guru says.

    Hahah haha

There is not any 2000 years of British’s history

The unification of kingdoms what after become England started after the domination of the Romans around 500 to 850 The Dark Ages and the period of unification of the seven kingdoms until the invasion of the Norman in 1066.

And the Romans troops killed most of the population there and most of them escaped to what is today Scotland, Wales, Ireland, etc.

As you can see no Great Britain or UK, etc Great Britain and not United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, started in 1701 with the unification of the Kingdoms of Scotland and England.

So as I said before “British” modern use of the word is new as the Argentinean otherwise Argentineans would have more than 5000 years of history because aborigine here can be traced even further.

Britain as Argentineans are made up of migrants and some little remaining mixed population of aborigines. May be you are referring to the history of Pakistan, India, Nigeria, etc what I’m not sure but may be you are right African and Asian populations are very old indeed.

” ... However, with the Roman conquest of Britain the Latin term Britannia was used for the island of Great Britain .....“

” ... DNA analysis attests that three quarters of Britons share a common ancestry with the hunter-gatherers who settled in Atlantic Europe during the Paleolithic era ....“

” ... Beaker culture arrived around 2500 BC, introducing drinking and food vessels constructed from clay, as well as vessels used as reduction pots to smelt copper ores. It was during this time that major Neolithic monuments such as Stonehenge and Avebury were constructed ....”

    2000 years ................ PLUS :-)

Whereas you still seem confused about your parentage, but never mind .... the point is, when Argentina gets some history then maybe it can compete with the big boys :-))

    @Redhoyt

When the Romans arrived to what they called later “Magna Britannia” there was not British else tribal Celtic population.

The commerce/trade in the island was created by the Romans the city of London was created by them and given that name in honor to a general Romanus called Londinium.
All the habitant there were called Londini (Londinii Urbis).
The place before Romans was called Llyn Din in Gaelic.

The Romans were forbidden in the beginning to mix with local population, The Roman Empire allowed them to bring their families and mix with locals after 5 years of services . Many locals mixed with the troops.

So why you are considering that there were British and you are not considering the Argentineans living here 500 years ago? And the aborigines 5000 years before?

    So what is your logic?
If an aborigine Celtic is good to be considered “British” by you, you have to consider a Toba or Mapuche too.

If you take the last legal entity formations (nation formation) like “United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland” and Argentina we have close the same history 200 years and 210.

So newbie you are so young in this world to talk about history, you still don’t know yours very well I guess. Read the docs of your Oxford uni where all is well documented there.

    @Isolde

Having a Spanish surname doesn’t mean that you are Spanish.

Britain is full of Spanish, French, Italians, Polish, Russians, etc. surnames.
Lamont (ex chancellor of exchequer french/italian), Portillo (journalist former MP Spanish), Roberts (Spanish), Cameron (Spanish), and the list is huge, etc.

6.8 million French (17% of Argies population), 3 millions Germans (7.5%) and half million Irish to name some may be wont agree with you.

I can assure you NicoDim that “Roberts” is definitely not a Spanish surname, it is Welsh. Nor is Cameron - it is Scottish!

What you have proved with you links there is that most Argentines are of immigrant descent. The same for the Falkland Islanders...

    Feb 11th, 2011 - 10:04 am - Link - Report abuse 0
  • NicoDin

    @Roberts

Sure Robby as you believe that Malvinas are British, all twisted.

The Roberts surname comes from Robert, Roberto, Roperto, Ruperto, Rubert and all these are the latinization of Hrodberht (Berht: brilliant, bright or illuminati and Hrod: Glory, glorious) in reality is a name coming from Germanic root introduced in Lombardy (Northern Italy).

Where the Germans make incursions and dominate this part of the Roman Empire.
In fact Lombardy, most of the population is from Germanic origin.
Then name went into France, Catalonia (part of Spain) Spain and Normandy then the name went into Britannia.

May be you are from some Spanish branch from the Frankish Robertians (Roberto el Fuerte aka Robert the Strong) when they took over Terragona (Spain) or from Northern Italy who knows.

In Wales the surnames as Robert turns into Roberts due to the “S” added in the end like in Jones, Edwards, etc. a very common practice in Wales like the drop of the B in Bowen (son of Owen) and turn into Owen.

Here your coat of Arms of your family in Catalonia http://www.armoria.info/libro_de_armoria/ROBERT.html

    Haha

Roberto, all Welsh surnames were taken from continental Europe, biblical names or introduced by Norman who took those names from Latinization of names from other part may be from what is today Spain, France, Italy, Germany, etc. and then turned into surnames.

    You are funny really mate.

“What you have proved with you links there is that most Argentines are of immigrant descent. The same for the Falkland Islanders...”

Really, Roberto? The same? None is claming to be part of France, or Italy or Germany and they are not squatters they are Argentineans now. Quite different don’t you think so?

    Apellido Peruanos haha
    http://www.deperu.com/apellidos-peruanos/significado.php?AP=1796

The Welsh and Scots are Celtics from the continent coming from France, Iberia, northern Italy, Belgium, etc
Are you getting a road map from where the population of the Britannia were coming from before the Romans appeared there again? Not yet?

    Celtic Spanish (Iberians)
    http://www.deperu.com/apellidos-peruanos/significado.php?AP=1796

The Celtics in Romagna (Italy) can be traced 400 years BC before the Romans pushed them away.
    Galia Cisalpina
    http://www.deperu.com/apellidos-peruanos/significado.php?AP=1796

The troops used by the Romans to invade Britannia where from Iberia (Spain) most of them Celti Romanus

So as I said before most British have the some Origin as most Italians, French and Spanish.
All your surnames are from the Latinization of names, nicknames, etc.

What do you want to invent?

Its really funny that 10 Germans in Britain turn your language into a Germanic Origin one, while thousand of Celtic Spanish Romans did not influenced over you at all. Even if they were there 500 years and you use the same alphabet, parliament, they type of urbanization, consider you self as par of the western civilization, etc.

Its not amazing how you make up your history like with Malvinas?

How little Wales, where you only can find sheep conquered the wold? Wow! you can write a book with that title mate.

I just wonder what is this?
    http://www.deperu.com/apellidos-peruanos/significado.php?AP=1796

Oh! I have a Swedish neighbour here so Argentineans are son of Odin, and our writing comes from the Runic alphabet.
And Netherlands is part of Argentina as Maxima Zorreguieta is Argentinean

Very easy to do Roberto, you just have showed me the way. haha
