Kirchner administrations lack “true political will” to eradicate corruption
More than a hundred cables from the US embassy in Buenos Aires warned about the fragility of the judicial system and the impunity of criminals, according to an article recently published by Spanish newspaper El País. Disclaimer & comment rulesMore Argentine own goals; nothing surprising in this report from the Wikileaks releases, merely corrobation that corruption exists at all levels in the K regime and it is only interested at maintainting zero investigation, to allow fat corrupt cats to get richer, while it remains active in pointing fingers of corruption elsewhere. Typical. That's another good and valid reason why the Falklands dont need Argentina. Who in their right mind would want a relationship with that country?

There is of course some similiarity within the UK (if not globally) of banks in the post-2008 banking crisis still paying themselves huge bonuses and shares at cost to the consumer/shareholder. The UK has done absolutely nothing (plenty of worthless hot air from Brown and Cameron/Clegg) to bring pre-2008 bankers to book either, so thanks Nico but no thanks, I dont need your ticket to move to UK. And Red, we ain't stooped to Argentine levels of cash envelopes under the table to conduct bunsiness, so I ain't for moving. Prefer to keep things simple and transparent - you could learn a lot...
Feb 09th, 2011 - 01:39 pm - Link - Report abuse 0As well as the banks, we've had the expenses scandals, and the cash for honours scandals. So our politicians aren't exactly squeeky clean. I don't think the problem is as widespread and inherent in the system as it is in Argentina (unless they're just better at covering their tracks). Politicians generally have more in common with each other (regardless of party or nationality) than they do with the people they supposedly represent, like a new subspecies.

#4 seems like as all europids like living by Argentine's and getting harrased by them, don't worry as europids push every country with resources to invest in Nuclear weapons, Argentina rather not, but seems like europids will get their way eventually and all those pressious resources will go into a nuclear defence program, nothing is new with europids. this is why the Argentina should support Iran and N Korea to get those nuclear weapons from them rather then waste our own resources in BS, sure this guy is corrupted he is a a europid like the rest of them ??

Iran, N Korea or what are the rest of nuclear armed europids crying about ? living in denial is a constant battle at every word europids concoct. in any case if what you say is true everyone could have done it already, what europids really mean is anyone not europid should get rid of their weapons so they can keep pushing UN anyway they please, Iran and N Korea got it right and they can help everyone else now, inlcuding themselves.

Also, I'm not sure if you've heard or not, but apparently, one of the US most wanted fugitives was captured in Buenos Aires. I'd love to get your views on that.

When I was in Britain I saw the same kind of corruption like here in the ’90.
What you said about the banks is absolutely true I’ve read an article about a bank (I don’t remember the name now) where a Sir Lord xxx while the bank was collapsing he signed his own retirement compensation for 25m pounds.

When we Brits and Falklanders provide negative comments regarding anything concerning Argentina, the reply is always, SO DO YOU! There is no insight or constructive comments regarding the subject, but just the childish reply.
There is corruption in Britain, we dont tend to live in a fantasy of denial and ignorance like the Argentines, but when there is corruption and it is made public or found out, the people benefiting from the corruption are punished. That is the point the Argentines commenting on this story have missed. Corruption is everywhere, especially in Argentina, but nothing is done about it and there is not motivation to do anything about it as the people benefiting from it are the ones leading the country.

Feb 10th, 2011 - 06:37 pm - Link - Report abuse 015 - I'd agree about corruption being more rife and widespread in Argentina than we have in Britain, but most Argentines I speak to about it (not the characters like 'I' on this board, who I'm pretty sure is a deliberately ridiculous caricature done by someone with an offbeat sense of humour), are pretty realistic about the levels of inflation and corruption.
I'm not Argentine, and I don't think that the Falklands belong to Argentina for that matter, but I do live in Argentina and I wouldn't take this 'I' comedian too seriously or as the voice of middle Argentina.....

1- A judge detained and prosecute Menem (ex president) for sign the authorization to sale arms to 2 belligerent countries, etc. the investigation is still going on. He also was investigated regarding funds abroad nothing was proven. De la Rua is still being investigated for his administration.
Political and unionist are in jail while are being investigating for over price and manipulation of medicines in Union clinics.
Bankers in Argentina were jailed after doing what in UK are they (UK’s bankers) doing now.
And the list is long now, tell me why the son of Margie Thatcher is not in jail in UK for making illegal deal with arms?
Why the bankers are not investigated and prosecuted for the fraud of the banking system?
Have you ever seen a fat cat banker in jail in UK?
Why Tony Blair is not in jail? Who is investigating Gordon Brown?
How many MPs went to jail for malversation of public funds?
All this is corruption on high level, and don’t get confused as the Yanks think that all what they read in the press is true.
If you don’t omit to pay taxes you get an embargo and a big fine and may be you end in jail if you are charged for fraud against the state. Ask Mauricio Macri if you don’t believe me.
Do you really think that Brits public servants don’t accept bribes?
How do you think someone get 4 houses in UK abusing the housing benefit service?
Corruption has many forms and depends of the culture, having some Lords that don’t pay taxes in UK thanks to special law made ad hoc for us smell to corruption.
So don’t think you have less corruption than other nations you only have more tolerance and none talks about it. See UK being sold to foreigners and you would understand the level of corruption you have in UKI.
Why politician in UK receives donation to they parties?
Think a little bit more before open your mouth about your honesty and moral standards.
