“ ... Earlier in the week Buenos Aires US Embassy chargé d’affairs Jefferson Brown was told by Timmerman that US officials must not comment on the aircraft incident with the Argentine press ...”

Lol .... little Twitterman telling the Yanks to be quiet lol

But the the Argentine Government approves of censorship, as that way people only get to hear half the truth !

We need the Argentinian Customs & Excise spokesperson to list and define the 'medical supplies' on the US plane. This way we can tell if they are agents of torture. And if they are - what is the Argentinian authorities doing secretly importing materials for torturing its population?

We need to know if they were off-loaded and reached an import warehouse without documentation.

We can expect that no US president will visit or seek to develop trade links with Argentina whilst Timmerman or the First Lady continue to offend the US.

At this rate Argentina will replace Lybia as the pariah state of the world.

Dear, dear. I “like” Mr Timerman. Best advocate of proving that Argentina is a “failed state” that Britain's got. I think that we can confidentally expect the U.S. Government's attitude toward the British territory of the Falkland Islands and the pompous, overweening Argentina to start to change soon.

maybe Mr Timerman should facilitate all reporters, issues or files regarding the plane for the world to see, they should also put everyone in the plane in jail to face a punishment for the crimes commited, something to the tune off arm trafficking, drug smiggling and espinage, there shpould be no regards for diplomatic inmunity or any of the BS USA uses to take adventage of everyone else, I like Mr. Timmerman he knows bery well how the british illegal occupation of Islas Malvinas Argentina should be hadled, he come from a background of a occupying power he should know our britard enemy better then us.

Timmerman should put up or shut up.

His position is untenable, and he is just making Argentina look foolish in the eyes of the world.

If he has evidence of UK torture materials being imported for Argentinan use he should show the world, even if it shows the Argentinan Government in a bad light.

If he doesn't want to do this he should just apologise to the USA on behalf of his President and quietly resign.

I once again want to point out that Operation Condor was a US overthrow of three South American governments that resulted in the horrific deaths of tens of thousands of “protesters”. If any of you writing in this column believe that those tactics are no longer in use, then I have a Brooklyn Bridge to sell you. The US (and I am a current citizen of the US, for which I apologize) is the preeminent terrorist organization in the world. All acts by the US military should be suspect.
For a country to not look carefully at “gifts” from the US military is to place that country in peril.

“The US State Department during the press conference in reference to other situations in the world described freedom of the press as “a human right and a fundamental value for democracy”
Oh yes, so nice! Thing is, they forget to say WHICH press they are talking about, surely the one that serves the interests of the empire, only , that constitutes the 'GOOD” media.

““I’m always going to answer your questions, or is Mr Foreign Affairs minister Timmerman going to advise me what I should do or say”, Philip Cowley US State Department spokesperson said ironically during the daily press conference in Washington. ”

Well, the irony seems to be that the government of USA, ALWAYS listen the jews, don't they?.

It's always best to be at least a little paranoid where the US is involved. It helps ones survival.

Geoffward proclaims : “We can expect that no US president will visit or seek to develop trade links with Argentina whilst Timmerman or the First Lady continue to offend the US.”

    Oh, what a big loss!!
By the way, I didn't know that the Argentinian President was a lesbian!

Does anybody here know what the offending items are ?

If not, why not focus on asking that question.
Mr Timmerman could be easily proved to be a saint or a sinner with this one bit of information.

We need to know if they were off-loaded and reached an import warehouse without documentation. ie were they in transit or at an end destination?
Who is the receiving agent on the 'end-user certificate? - the Argentinian authorities? - police? military?
Have these medical supplies been bonded to avoid tampering?

We need the Argentinian Customs & Excise spokesperson to list and define the 'medical supplies' on the US plane.
This way we can tell if they are 'agents of torture' as is claimed.
And if they are - what are the Argentinian authorities doing secretly importing materials for torturing its population? Or is Argentina reserving items of torture for foreign nationals only?

Many questions need asking of Mr Timmerman, as many obvious questions are presently being ignored - both by the Argentinians and by the posters on this site.

Like you say, if it wasnt for crackpot Kirchners or Timerman, Britiain's arguments would look less convincing that Argentina just makes it up as they go along, Gawd bless ya Timerman ya insane banana

perhaps just perhaps this was a secrete escape route for Kirchner and
Timerman, when Argentina collapses, perhaps the cargo is not on the plane, because [they] were the cargo, perhaps just a very slow joke,
but hey, it will all come out i the wash, perhaps neither wants to tell,
as to who will suffer the most embarrassment, ,,,,,,,come on you have to laugh ??

dope ? terrorits weapons ? incripted communication equipment ? a note with the format of terror elements ? what more do we need a country under siege ?? This might be the real reson for brits to lough, if this happend in britain USA embassy there would have to close their doors and go home, and anything relating to this airplane would have to have their day in court, This can take years, USA will have to sit tight be patient and wait in a civilized fashion, we are still waiting for Islas Malvinas to be returned to us for at least 180 years, this plane thing might take longer.

#16... We seem to agree on several issues in various MercoPress stories. As an American (soon to be an Uruguayan), I am ashamed of my government's actions over the years. There is a complete disconnect between the values the US espouses (and what many of its citizens truly believe in), vs. the actions taken to protect and further the financial well being of American corporations. I am watching the American Empire slowly collapse as I prepare to leave. The collapse cannot happen soon enough (but, please wait until I am safely in Uruguay) to relieve the world of a musclebound and arrogant terrorist organization. Soon, we will all be able to breathe a sigh of relief.

typical argie no reply answer, no one really knows what was in there,
as for the Malvinas [wherever they are] and what’s Britain got to do with the American plane, [oh] you think we have something to do with it, [good thinking]
but the Falklands will remain British, and Argentina will be forever beholden to the Americans.
    mmmmmmmmm

well said #18 As I stated many times over, Argentina doesn't want anything to do with the Fakland island company, they are pirats who thefted cattle from governor luis vernet settlement, that's all, we already have enought thieves, criminals and illegal aliens in Argentina you can take yours back to UK, what Argentina wants and what all Argentines want is for Malvinas Argentinas to be left alone for future generations to enjoy, not for UK to pollute, I think Luis Vernet went to Malvinas Argentina to control the seal hunting and now there is hardly no seals there, later was the fish driving the penguins to go hungry and float dead on beaches everywhere, now is for oil, you people make me sick.

    From #13

The nearest I can get is that the medications were (out-of-date) morphine ampules, some military GIS and a couple of replacement barrels for weapons on the mainifest should they be needed during the training course. The plane was an emergency stand-by vehicle, so the suitcase in question was considered to be part of the stand-by load, not part of the manifest.

This info comes in dependently from Argentinian and USA blog-sites so it is not verifiable. Official sources are saying nothing - Timmerman may be too embarrassed to comment and Cowley seems to be letting the Argentinians dig themselves deeper into the mire.
