While offering a press conference in Washington DC, US Assistant Secretary of State for Public Affairs Philip Crowley refused to comment on the recently released Wikileaks cables that mention Argentina and said his government would refrain from doing so in the future.

“We understand that virtually every country in the world has a Wikileaks cable related to their domestic politics,” Crowley said.

“We’re just not going to comment on them anymore,” he stated.

Regarding the allegedly “sensitive material” seized by the Argentine Customs from a US Air Force in a highly publicized incident involving Argentine Foreign Affairs minister Hector Timerman , Crowley insisted that the US government “still wants their stuff back”.

“We’re still committed to solving this with the Argentine government,” he concluded.

Crowley assured that the US Department of State is “working hard in order to overcome any uneasiness created in our friends and allies around the world” due to the Wikileaks scandal.

The latest batch of Wikileaks documents released contained several reports criticizing the Argentine government and their decision to tap the Central Bank foreign currency reserves in order to service public debt, which created a strong debate between the ruling party and the opposition in 2010.

To be honest I don’t know why they commented in the first place,
they know they would get carpeted, but still went ahead, only now they wake up and realise, if in doubt keep stoom, say nothing and deny everything .mmmm
