Mexico began their quest for Americas Division 3 T20 Cricket Championship with an impressive 10-wicket victory over the winless Falkland Islands in the morning session of Day 2. Read full article
Great to see the Family of Cricket nations expand.
Once the top teams were Pakistan, India, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, England and West Indies. Now you can add Sri Lanka, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Canada, Holland, Ireland and Bangladesh. The game is very strong in the Middle East and now appears to be spreading into South America.
Martin - what more propaganda do the FI need than their flag and the Union flag flying proudly over the Islands? A = none.
The only propaganda relating to the Islands comes from Argentina and look what happened to Argentina the last time it tried to raise it's flag in the Islands? I pressume you are questioning the sexuality of all of India in your reference to cricket? No wonder you Argies have so few friends that actually stick up for you!
#1 If you don't like what Mercopress covers there is a simple solution - don't let the door catch you on the ass.
On the Rugby without Borders there were plenty of comments about the indifferent response from the Falkland Islanders. I encouraged them to give it a chance. I can see why they're mistrustful given the comments here.
The UK has quite a few ... the Union Jack, the Red Ensign, the Red Dragon, Saint Andrew's Cross, the Flag of Jersey, the Flag of Guernsey, the Flag of Man, and of course my favourite, St George's Cross ..... amongst others :-)
Anyone that lies for a living need not apply to play cricket, because the use of underhand tactics 'just isn't cricket'.
For everyone's information, I've never had any interest in the game, preferring athletics or motorsport during the Summer months.
Mind you, with the recent betting scams committed by India's players, Argentina might consider the game as a avenue to consider.
I read Martin's comment #3 and I can't imagine why they removed it. Apparently the FI cricket team is way too important for someone to mock their defeat. Never mind that more serious rhetoric from certain British and American users - rhetoric often containing racist, anti-Latin innuendo - is never censored.
Martin - I can identify many countries that have a number of flags that are used to locate a national identity in differing contexts. Clearly this is too much for you uneducated brain to comprehend. Are educational standards really that low in Argentina?
#17 I too saw Martin's comment at #3 and wondered why it wasn't removed given Merocpress' stated policy of intolerance of racism.
It was racist, and racist posts by any British or American user are also removed. You're not the first to claim bias but in reality your hypocrisy is showing.
#17 I too saw Martin's comment at #3 and wondered why it wasn't removed given Merocpress' stated policy of intolerance of racism.
But it WAS removed.
Please go see messages #5 and #11 in the link below. I myself remember having denounced both comments as hateful and racist many times over - but Mercopress did NOT remove either of them.
So let me see if I get Mercopress comments policy: saying of the FI cricket team that they are idiot Kelpers is racist and Mercopress is right in removing such comment from the board. But saying that Argentines and Latinos are an inferior race, beasts of burden that should enslaved by UK immigrants - like British user Typhoon and US user fredbdc suggested in posts #5 and #11 - IS NOT racist and thus is considered by Mercopress as appropriate material to be posted in its boards.
I see nothing racist in either post... certainly no more so than the views expressed by Argentinian politicians 100+ years ago who wished to promote british immigration as it was the only way they could see to get the country working in a semi decent fashion....
Even today about all that seems to work in the country are the people of British descent and the British built infrastructure... Even Think has british dogs as he knows the argentine ones are lazy and indolent.
So you don't see those two posts as racist, but think that censoring someone who called some idiot Kelpers idiot Kelpers is not excessive. How very tacky and unreasonable of you.
As for Argentina's immigration policies, they were not intended to appeal to British specifically but to Europeans in general.
As for the British being hard-workers, that must be a joke. You should know that the average UK adult works some 35 h per week and gets extensive welfare support for all sorts of financial troubles he may come to face. That's the reason the UK govt, like most western European govts, has sunk so deep in public and foreign debt: excessive welfare support for a lazy, spoiled populace. In every single country in Latin America the working time is significantly longer than in the UK, people get lower salaries and often work in more exhausting, dangerous jobs, and don't receive government benefits as generous as in Europe (in part because our leaders are not as interested as their European counterparts in contracting unsustainable debts).
@24 No I don't.... however I had pased no comment on #3... not worth my time... the child has difficulty string 5 words together to make a sentance.
Hours worked and productivity are two different things... otherwise according to what you have said latin america would be world leaders in all fields...which they aren't
Golly, Martian just managed an 8 word sentence... wonders never cease..
Martin .. Argentina has two flags... one with the smiley face... one without..
You know what I suspect about Frank... Frank is a Mexican living in the US. Mexicans in Mexico are fond of Argentines, but Mexicans in the US are a completely different story. Very defensive, plagued with inferiority complexes and very hateful of Argentines because they fit in so well and Mexicans don't.
Who are you trying to impress 'chicano'? Wash your mouth with soap before you talk about my flag, you don't even know what it means.
And the other comments about the stupid cricket match and the extremely 'questionable' inclinations of their players. lol
Here is a Tony Blair bear for all you sensitive Brits, you're so delicate.... [not the word I'm thinking of but we don't want you to start crying again, do we?]
Productivity has nothing to be with being industrious. Productivity is correlated first and foremost with technology advancements. In China and Malaysia people work way more than in, say, Belgium, yet people in those two East Asian countries are much poorer than the Belges. Likewise, the British might be much richer than Latin Americans, but that doesn't change the fact that they are a self-indulgent, nanny state- supported population.
Forgetit87 when Redhoyt or other have made comments on other threads I condemned them equally and yes I do consider that comment to be racist. Shame on you that you don't.
I'm not racist! I do not care about the colour of anybody's skin! I DO care about his attitude and his views. I am not racist ... but I AM tribist (tribe - in Birmingham it's a close knit community :-)
And I am anti-Argentine .... 'cos they're a waste of space :-))
