The one advantage of monarchy, is that it keeps down the number of politicians. After all, who in their right mind would want a bloody President as a figurehead ?

    :-)

2....riiiight....have you also considered the other more likely possibility that the countries you have listed don't want to become independent? And already have freedom?

the Scots DON'T wand Independence .... a few maybe, but the majority do not. The Welsh DO NOT want independence, they didn't really want regional assemblies when offered. The Northern Irish DO NOT want independence, it would have been so much simpler if they did. The Falkland islanders DO NOT want independence either - haven't you noticed ?

Yep but Red. If an Argie thinks it, it must be true and any evidence to the counter must be false propaganda.

I know its a sensitive subject, but Argentina finds itself as a 'bit player' alongside the continental super-power.

If she wished to receive proection as a Protectorate of the United Kingdom, I feel sure that the UK would do the same for her as France has done for French Guiana - perhaps even to the point of according département d'outre-mer status, thus becoming part of the UK itself.

It works for Hawaii and for Alaska - these two distant countries sit very nicely as part of the larger federation.

Im sure if argentina wanted to be part of the british [thing ?]
it could be arranged, but sadly there will always be a minority that would be against it, mainly christinas supporters , but in this day and age, you either have it, or you dont, we are always willing to share,
its better than claiming you own something you dont even have ??????
