Three Latin American countries figure among the ten top users of social network Tiwtter according to a release from comScore, Inc., a leader in measuring the digital world, based on the comScore Media Metris service.
The study reveals that the Dutch social networking market continues to grow strongly as sites like Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin extend their respective footprints in the market. The Netherlands has the highest Internet penetration worldwide for two of the other key global social networking sites, Twitter and Linkedin.
However what is interesting is that Brazil, Venezuela and Argentina figure among the world’s top ten in social network usage of Twitter while the US is not in the list and Singapore ranks tenth.
In Netherlands with a network usage of 26.8%, means one out of four inhabitants uses Twitter regularly.
Brazil ranks third in the list with 23.7% usage, Venezuela, fifth with 21% and Argentina, seventh with 18%, almost one out of five in the population use Twitter.
The ten countries in Internet penetration for Twitter.com by reach is as follows: Netherlands, 26%; Japan, 26.6%; Brazil, 23.7%; Indonesia, 22%; Venezuela, 21%; Canada, 18%; Argentina, 18%; Turkey, 16.6%; Philippines, 16.1% and Singapore, 16%.
