Even better that an American company owns the rig doing the business, a true team effort. An exciting time for RKH during 2011!

Wikileaks, This in spite of the fact that a telegram from the US embassy in London, February 2010, includes the comment of Exxon-Mobil CEO Brad Corson who believes there is not enough oil in the Falklands continental platform to make it commercially viable.

Good, if that's what you believe then you can stop worrying about us indulging in oil exploration down here then can't you Marcos.

Yes Marcos. Exxon-Mobil “believed”. That was based on the 1998 drilling in the NFB and before a confirmed and flow tested oil discovery that is now being appraised. In addition to a non drilled East Falkland and South Falkland Basin (which are enormous areas).

You base your argument on an analysis from data in 1998. I prefer to base mine on current data from 2010 & 11. I wonder whose data is more current.

Again you live up to you two digit IQ. Have you registered your special needs yet Marcos?

“…as a good place to explore for oil and gas and to inform companies as to where the Islands are with exploration.”

    Uh... nowhere? lol

However, if you're in the market for penguin shit and chubby, manly looking ladies... that's definitely the way to go. ;-)

Here's a thought. The Argentines 'know' that there is no oil around the Falkland Islands. So why are they so concerned about British/Falklands oil exploration? The truth is that the Argentines 'know' nothing. And they are deathly afraid that the territory they are trying to steal might have some resources they won't be able to steal. The Falklanders, of course, are not bothered. If there is oil it will be a plus. If there isn't, they will continue as they have done in the past. Argentines constantly demonstrate their immaturity. Which, on a scale of 1 to 10, is around 10. A country best known for its homosexuals, transsexuals, lesbians and cowardly soldiers and sailors.

The best and funniest thing is that they are currently relying on China and India to save their sorry asses. Whilst China and India divide the Argentine economy and milk it dry. And I wish them well. By the time they've finished and pulled out, Argentina will have trouble feeding itself. And when it dies? Who cares!

Martin - Please show me the RNS which indicates that Sea Lion contained water. I can send you plenty of that relate to the oil find with a deep oil-water contact which drives the recovery factor.

The Argies hate to see anyone else do well. It reminds them that they are the spokespeople of disappointment.

Marcos - Who is bothered about DES at the moment RKH is King!! Perhaps DES will go to the wall and RKH will the get the acreage :-) The second mouse gets the cheese!!!

We do you insist on using sources that are old (1998 and 2008)?

What are you going to do when oil production starts? What pathetic and uneducated arguments are you going to vomit out then?

    11 Typhoon,

“Argentina will have trouble feeding itself. And when it dies? Who cares!”

And from the UK, a tiny island with no natural resources, which by the way is broke... you're trying to portray Argentina as a country in danger of dying?

You're the one that's dying, the Scottish know this. Why do you think they want to break away from you? Ever wonder why?

“Whilst China and India divide the Argentine economy and milk it dry...”

How did you come to this expert conclusion Typhony? You stupid clown.

Martin, you and Marcos so love talking out of your rear ends. UK broke? Look at their credit rating, do they need bailouts? No- yes they are cureently cutting costs and people coming to reality of not spending what you dont have (which had been the case for a while) - but all nations need do that at times(even yours). Do please get a grip with reality rather than pin your hopes on a few newspaper headlines - newspapers in UK are just like those in BA - they print headlines to sell the paper - not always totally related to truth and reality!
Scotland- as said before -instead of making silly inane comments - learn the subject! Of course Alex Salmond will say he will seek a referendum!A bit stupid and earthshattering if he did not say so. But there has never been any sign yet that the majority would back it. their local elections last week were NOT fought on that issue at all.If a referendum did go that way - so what? affects neither Arg nor the Falklands!
Hydrocarbons - look at facts - a firm discovery that the real world accepts - as yet to be fully proven - that is what is now happening, lets see what happens over the next 6 months.
Another company had bad luck and struggling a bit - and may/may not survive - that is actually what happens in real life!
Other companies starting in 6-9months in totally new areas - with investment raised - lets wait and see what they find? One thing is sure - I dont know - and neither of you 2 do either!
One thing we do know here is that we do NOT need Argentina! Yes, easier and more convenient with normal relations etc - but your choice, as we can continue and develope WITHOUT you if thats they way you wish to play.

@15 Yes, Britain is broke. That's why we are still giving billions in foreign aid. Although I'm glad to see that we've now stopped wasting our money in Brazil. And we can still manage to find billions to bail out places like the Irish Republic. And spend £48,000,000 a day propping up the EU. Though that's a mistake! We're so poverty-stricken that, now that I'm retired, I can only afford to run a late model 5-series BMW. How about you? Of course life is more difficult now. I can only afford 3 holidays a year now. Would you like to send a donation so I can go back to 4? Around £1,000 should do. That's about 6,700 pesos. I'm sure that'll be no problem in a wealthy country such as yours. Next year I'm looking to receive the payout on one of my little investments. Should be about £30,000. That's just over 201,000 pesos. But I don't really want to wait for that fourth holiday. I'm sure you'll understand and offer me some of your spare cash. Did I mention that I own my own house outright? None of those loans or mortgages for me.

Did you know that I can only afford 2 mobile phones now? In addition to the landline. And the landline only has 6 extensions around the house! I just can't manage the extensions for the garage and the garden shed. And I can't get used to only having 3 televisions. Do you think a 50 inch wall-mounted tv is too small?

Now that I'm older, and have a back problem, I can only have my gardener once a week. If you could add on another £650 (4,400 pesos) I could go back to twice a week for the next year.

What we need is a kindly overseas friend willing to give us the money we need. I'm sure you'll be contributing and persuading your friends to do the same. When can I expect the first 11,000 pesos?

    @21

The refusal to employ disabled people in Argentina has persisted for decades.1 Neither the political and economic orientation of those in government nor periods of economic expansion and job creation have favored the hiring of the disabled. Although the National Congress has passed a series of laws, including job quotas in 1981, an anti-discrimination law in 1988, and constitutional mandates on human rights in 1994, these norms are in practice rarely enforced

    https://nacla.org/node/5688

Argentine social services are on the “back
burner,” and support for persons with disabilities is largely
    unavailable.

haha.. yeah? well I hope you have more of those millions stashed away somewhere when the Mercosur-EU trade deal goes through, those lucky charm retards seem quite scared… ;-)

“…I can only afford to run a late model 5-series BMW.”

That's right, only the UK has BMWs… this forum is full of “super rich” people we can't either confirm or deny.

@20 Actually that 50 inch is a tad small, I have a 60 inch plasma on the wall of the new extension, it does make Blu-ray look so much better, especially when I buy popcorn and turn the lights down. I actually think a 120 or 150 inch plasma might look better on the wall, but funds are so tight these days, we only have a 42“ Plasma in the Front Room, and a 26” LCD on the bedroom wall, so I think any peso donation needs to be used on a bigger TV in the bedroom.

I only have the one iPhone, so probably need some of those pesos these RGs plan to donate to improve matters, but I may also need funds to improve the home network, as we only have six laptops, three desktops, and two rack mount computers in the house, and I need to upgrade the fibre optic link to the garden shed from 100Mbit as this is so last year; maybe they will also buy me a new network printer and contribute to the Quad Core iMac I'm ordering in September? You never know.

Yes I'm also retired, and am looking to sell one of the cars to free up some cash, I have three, and can only justify two really, and contrary to belief my car premiums are actually lower than last year (no I'm also amazed too!), plus the wife has just ordered her new car because the old one is getting on, it is nearly three years old, so some peso help from RG land is always appreciated.

I've just taken delivery of £2000 worth of solid oak wood flooring to be laid by the contractor within the next couple of weeks, and he'll want £100 a day, so when can I expect the cash to arrive from Argentina?

@27 Isolde, I think the Malvinists read too many doom and gloom stories in Newspapers and think it is all true, I mean, if they've been indoctrinated from birth, and their Government restricts the amount of paper and lucrative government propaganda advertising to certain newspapers, unless they tow the introvert Peronist Party Policy, and ladle the same crap like a drug for these Malvinists to read, and dehumanise the Falklanders, preaching that as sub-human (read implanted) such none people such as Falklanders are not entitled to all the Human Rights afforded to everyone else, then any crappy anti-British or blight on the British story that might suit a Malvinist brainwashed persona is going to give them the jollies isn't it.

Saying all that, if they are stupid enough to think we're all broke, and are willing to send money because they think we're all destitute, I'll willingly take it off them, but cash GBP or USD only, we don't want any Monopoly money.

As regards whether I won the pissing contest with Typhoon, I seriously doubt it, I've heard he plays a mean hand of Top Trumps. Not that many Malvinists will understand what card game that is without the aid of Google, but it's probably an age appropriate game for most Malvinists.
