Dominique Strauss-Kahn is “not in a position to run” the International Monetary Fund after his arrest over an alleged sexual assault, US Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner has said. He added IMF's executive board should designate an interim head.

In the USA , Mike Tyson was given a sentence of 10 years for rape (the judges split 2:1), six in prison and four on probation. He was released after serving three years. His accuser was herself convicted of a previous false rape accusation and labelled as a 'gold-digger'.

Julian Assange is accused of 'a rape-like act' with two womenwho complained about his preference to 'ride bare-back'. This case may come to court, but there is no category for his 'offense' in Swedish law.

Dominique Strauss-Kahn is arrested over an alleged sexual assault - not rape, but alleged forced fellatio. There may also be an accusation of attempted rape.

The (alleged) fellatio may attract a sentence, but it will not be the 30 years incarceration that the papers are announcing.
There is no doubt, however, that his public life is terminated.
