May 29th, 2011 - 05:33 am - Link - Report abuse 0@ briton, no, we are not all of the same blood, we are 42,000,000 people of different races, and our ancestors are of different nationalities and races, not only Spanish people, but Welsh, Scottish, Irish, German, Dutch, Russian, Korean, Danish, Japanese, Chinese, English, Norwegian, Ukranian, Hungarian, etc. etc. etc. Why do you feel like saying that we are of the same blood is something offensive? Why do you hate Spain so much? I'm sure you have some Spanish blood running through your veins, but don't kill yourself, pure British boy :P

They have stoked a bit of adrenalin up in a topic recently and we are just waiting for life to get back to 'normal'.
Even I tease you occasionally, but I would hate to be without my little virtual community of friends.

Over 100 injured in Barcelona as police takes protestors with rubber bullets and tear gas
May 29th, 2011 - 07:26 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Can also be (it will happen again, because it already started in the UK)
Over 100 injured in London as police takes protestors with rubber bullets and tear gas.
Enjoy your Ausiterity meassures by your protectors..
I hate police/military 'over-enthusiasm' in pursuit of order.
May 29th, 2011 - 11:55 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I was not the first or the last to be so challenged by the boys in blue (London, 1968),and I know how hard the 'sticks' hurt,
but when peaceful protest gets hijacked by bodies of 'anarchistic' individuals bent on mayhem, destruction of property and actual bodily harm, I am by and large happy with most police responses most of the time.
Barcelona's rubber-bullets and tear-gas are much preferable to live-fire, as in Syria atm. And both London & Barcelona's responses are preferable imho to the greater excesses historically handed out by certain military dictatorships and 'civil' dictatorships, both of the left and of the right.
Everybody should have the right to march, but for the few idioms let us define that,
May 30th, 2011 - 12:08 am - Link - Report abuse 0Nobody has the right to use peaceful marches to destroy steal disrupt rob insult abuse smash things and break the law,
Sadly some people today get confused and think they have the right to do what they please, they do not,
law and order is there by consent of the people, if you do not like it, then change it, but to commit crimes in its name is wrong, no matter what country you live in, [ditto]

May 30th, 2011 - 09:58 am - Link - Report abuse 0If you will allow me to rephrase -
'The world is waiting for Tony Blair to appear in court where he will be judged for alledged war crimes (lying and misleading the UN over wMDs) leading to warfare (UN Peace keeping mission).
If found guilty of a crime leading to a prison sentence, we hope he will serve his time in a real prison like an 'ordinary individual', in order to reflect on his wrongdoings to other individuals, other peoples, and to humanity.'
He has received (I trust) my letters on the subject and,
were I in Britain at the time, I would once more have been on the streets peaceably protesting his actions.
xbarilox tut tut,
May 30th, 2011 - 06:32 pm - Link - Report abuse 0still on the side of the law breakers,
we thought you had changed and become normal.
But then again, tut tut
