Rockhopper Exploration operating in the North Falkland basin has provided an upbeat update on its second appraisal well, 14/10-5, on the Sea Lion discovery which was drilled 600 m north of the 14/10-2 discovery well to a TD of 2,726 m. Read full article

A net pay that is well ahead of our investors expectations. A fantastic result and testament to hard work and good management. Now we are flow testing the well and then onto a mid area appraisal.

Doubtless many Argie posters will now appear with their conspiracy theories and will not believe anything that doesn't fit with their view of the world. They could be gracious and say well done but I won't hold my breath.

With a flow test planned for over 90m of net oil play then anyone bearish on RKH needs some of CFKs medication. After the flow rest we go 4.5km west. This is the area that Shell found oil at in 1998 so RKH already have drilling data for that region.

I am a bull in a china shop!!!!!!

Been in for ages. Laughing my head off at Think and his daily price updates. These Argies can't help but stick their own foot in their mouths.

Was always a dumb thing to come out with on a daily basis. Either the oil was there or it wasn't. Share price wasn't going to change that fact.

    This thread will be amusing.

    TWIMC
British People are getting all wound up for those “No News”

The latest Rockhopper appraisal well, just 600 meters of the original Sea Lion ”Small Discovery”, was bound to hit something.
Basically, an expensive hole for yet another flow test on the same location and to produce some “No News” to feed the eager investors.
Following; they will drill another appraisal well, whopping 4 km away from the Sea Lion ”small discovery”. And then………….., yet another one closer by.

My opinion about Sea Lion is still the same:
A “small discovery” (in the same area where Shell found some oil back in 1998) blown out of proportion by Rockhopper for the purpose of shifting money from the investors pockets into their pockets.

    Lets wait and see.

Think - you have just proven yourself to be a turnip (a title you have used on numerous occasions). 14/10-5 was always going to be within the p90 area as RKH and close to 14/10-2 as the seismic tie in indicated a much better well location to perform a flow test with much better equipment than was the case last year. Over 90 meters of net oil play is huge and the flow test will be followed by a drill in the p50 area.

Shell did not drill in this location in 98. They drilled west of this location (Chatam) and found live oil but didn't log or core the well. Where are RKH going next??? They appear to know that Sea Lion lower is more pronounced in the west and if they also pick up the main fan and Chatam then ££££££££!!

Ultimately you are basing your opinion on nothing more than blind hope and an ideological bias. I much prefer to base my investment descisions on data and my risk/reward calculations.

Your opinion is looking more and more irrelevant and you appear unable to even contemplate an alternative outcome. That is a bit of a shame considering you are a largely bright and rational fellow.

Always time for you to come in from the cold!

Urinehopper needs to keep investors happy so they keep drilling holes right next to another hole where they found some oil in the past.
Some idiot celebrate all night and promised to replace his bad teeth with gold ones. He wakes up and ready to see Urinehopper jump at least 50% or more with such an “incredible” discovery, but the reality is about only 3% ooopsss.

Marcos - that post show how much you don't know. Stick to things your are comfortable with. ABC should be a good start and you will probably get a degree in Argentina for that. Erm I don't think 14% on Friday and 10% yesterday equates to 3%, but I suppose in Argie logic mathematics is also a conspiracy!

Ultimately we all knew the likelihood of drilling orders (expo followed by p90, p50 etc). This isnott a discovery, it is an appraisal. Can you even read? You are really dim arn't you!

Flow test, news seismic data, three more appraisals and we are nearing a new CPR and booking of reserves.

There is bugger all Argentina can do about it! Pretty funny really!

Marcos- dimboy- even I- who know nothing about offshore exploration - can understand the simple logic that when you find some - you drill around it to see how big-or not the find is!

Marcos and Think just can't face reality, they cannot bear to see the Islanders or a business operating in the Islands do well.

They could be gracious and say well done but that big chip on their shoulder is just a great disability.

I do pity them. They spend so much time being bitter when they could be congratulating others for their success and look for opportunities to be successful for themselves.

    Are you happy now?
I'm sure you guys as Brits feel very proud of stealing land and natural resources around the world, I have to admit you are very good at that and your impeccable record of theft and murder in all continents is admirable.

    Think & Marcos,
lts pretty hard to“steal”what you already own. We own the Falklands and you do not. So we are not stealing anything. You would like to steal.
l don't know if l can make it any simpler than that.
What part of the above, don't you understand?
lf your country wasn't so silly, you could have been part of it.
Blame Nestor the warmonger for that.
    There you have it.

Marcos - if you don't want to be part of the Falkland Island oil expo then fine. That is your personal right to choose not to invest. Individual empowerment is the cornerstone of capitalism.

I see you have started to be another plonker and highlight daily SP price fluctuations and you can't even get them right.

Carry on with your blind hope. It is all you are worth after all.

    @21 Marcos,
l couldn't care less what the Germans think of us. Thats their opinion & they're welcome to it.
The same as l couldn't care less what the Argentines think either.
l know what l think of them!
l don't have any financial intrests at all in oil, but l hope they find squillions of it just to annoy you Argentines(who've got a damned cheek, btw as it our oil & got absolutely nothing to do with you).
As for you being so proud(hah!)that you don't want to benefit from OUR oil, l don't believe you. Your nation is itching to get its thieving hands on OUR oil.
As l said, if it wasn't for your warmongering ex-president, you would have got something out of it.
l guess he wanted it all, now you'll get nuzzing.

Marcos- by referral to daily sp movements you make yourself to be even thicker! All shares and financial markets are driven by the PROFIT motive - when shares rise - or a currency rises against another its caused by people buying - and a lot of thta buying is for short term gain and profit - so when you buy and it rises say 10% - you sell and make 8-9% profit yourself - and down goes the price/value again - until the next bit od news comes along that helps start a rise again. The bigger the good news- the bigger the rise - and naturally the bigger the drop after.
That, in very very basic terms is how it works - even idiots know that! Thats why currencies also go up and down - a lot of it is financial speculators making a quick profit.
