The total number of visitors to Antarctica during the 2010/11 season, and traveling with IAATO member-operators, was 33,824. This includes those traveling on traditional expedition ships, yachts, larger cruise-only vessels as well visitors participating in land programs. We all knew a year or more ago this was going to happen and sensible folks will be adjusting to it, so far tourism has escaped the economic world slump so a bit is inevitable also. It actually hits the TDF economy far more on a % basis than it does ours anyway!
