    He should have gone to the US or Europe for his treatment. Not sure Cuba was the right place to go but best wishes for a full recovery.

    There are excellent Cuban doctors! The trouble is a great many of them go to work in the US. You can't really blame them. When I was there 5 0r 6 years ago I chatted to a doctor who told me he earns $30 per month. Double some wages and I understand relative incomes but still.

    Cuba has an excellent heath system. I have taught its structure on a comparative studies module on health economics to 1st year UGs. They also provide free places at med school for international students.

    Chavez is still a narcissist though and his country could develop much better without him. Come on, a major oil exporter that struggles to keep the power turned on!
