Desperate, deluded guy this one. I was born, brought up and at the moment representing the Falklands at the Island Games in the Isle Of Wight. I feel British, I want to be British, I have never been pressured to feel this way, it is my choice and my right. The British forces are only in the Falklands for one reason, we all know what that is, its because the argies are hostile.

snort guffawl bawahahahahaha! Are these Argentine politicians for real, and the above imbecile is trusted with defence of the Patria? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

I see the imbeciles can't even get their stories straight, Jorge Arguello said a few months ago: “There are no islanders, they are all part of the British Military Garrison”.....

Twitterman said: “The islanders do not exist they are all implanted British citizens designed to give legitimacy to the illegal usurption of our Malvinas”

then he said: “Jamis Peck should be allowed to excercise his legitimate right to visit the place of his birth without fear of attack” (I thought islanders weren't born there but actually implanted citizens???!??)

Now Puricelli says that islanders do exist, aren't an implanted population and aren't a military garrison but are being held hostage?!?!??!

BAHAHAHAHAHAHHA thank you so much politicians of Argentina for proving once again why you will never ever gain sovereignty over the islands!

Why are Argentinien are hostile? Because we were there in '82 in our Islands!! What was the message of Defence Secretary Liam Fox “we have Typhoons already stationed there (Malvinas). We have a very clear message that we have both the naval power if necessary, and certainly any intent to ensure that the Falkland Islands are kept free and their people enjoy the liberation... Argentina are hostiles!! It is bullshit, man!!

The pirates does not comply with international law and ignore the international community's calls to negotiate the Malvinas Islands Sovereignty.
    Rotten
SORRY!! MAN YOU ARE NOT AT HOME, Ok!! you are not in our islands at the moment. enjoy your glass of whisky in uk!!

What have the islanders been saying: “we want good neighbourly relations”
What have the British been saying: “We are quite happy to cooperate over other issues”
What has Argentina been saying: “STUPID MEDICORE CRASS COLONIAL POWER IN DELCINE, YOU HAVE ISLANDERS HOSTAGE, ISLANDERS DO NOT EXIST, ISLANDERS ARE NOT ALLOWED SELF DETERMINATION, BAN ALL HYDRCARBON EXPLORATION, ISLANDERS ARE NOT ALLOWED ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT!!!!!!!! DIABLO PIRATES IMPERISLAISTS”

'In reply Minister Puricelli said that “when you lack legitimate rights founded on Law, history and geography, the only argument left to retain the Malvinas Islands is force”.'

Oh, Britain has plenty of arguments. That's why the Junta considered war a better option than seeking pursuing an arbitration like it did with Chile in the 70's.

I think Puricelli could explain to us how the Argentina claim can be considered in good standing considering the 1850 Convention of Settlement Treaty and the 1834 Moreno protest? I'd say they are impossible to argue against.

The 1850 Convention is a generic inter-governmental treaty that settled all differences between the two nations. The title, description, and article 6 of the treaty cleary states this in no uncertain terms. This was also followed up with Argentina dropping all inter-governmental protests for decades and even Presidents like Sarmiento stating there were no problems between the two nations. It's impossible to argue against.

The 1834 protest by Manuel Moreno is also hugely significant. The original protest did not specify what BsAs wanted, the 1834 protest did and it only claimed East Falkland (probably because of the UK agreement with Spain in 1771). So it would be very hard for Argentina to make a case now for West Falkland, seeing as they never originally claimed it. This also means the Argentine claim that they have always claimed the whole archipelago is a lie.

Also this business of 'world support' for Argentina. The United States has always said they support negotiations, but that is not a full endorsement of anyone claim and it's a falsehood to say so. In fact only 34 out of 192 UN members have stated they fully support Argentina’s claim. That's 17% in 65 years of campaigning. So Argentina does not have world support, it’s far from it. The UN resolutions only suggest and are non-binding. These processes have also been change by Argentina’s unilateral acts.

    They fool only themselves.

“ ... “when you lack legitimate rights founded on Law, history and geography, the only argument left ...”

1 - in Law the islands are British, because
2 - in History the British have held sovereignty since 1765 and
3 - Geography is irrelevant in international Law ( see the Islas de Palmas case 1928)

So, there is no argument left !

Isolated? a passenger flight to a major S American city every 7 days, 5 passenger flights now in a fortnight direct to UK, containerised seafreight every 6 weeks, and a less regular shipping link to S America still exists.
Hostage- any dumb Argie can fly here for a week as see for themselves that:
    1. Arg Defence Mininster is a LIAR - we are not anybody,s hostage.
    2. Arg Foreign Mininster is a LIAR - we do not prevent Arg citizens from coming here.

    3. Any day of the week any Arg Govt is welcome to go to the UN and LIST the International Laws we and UK are breaking please?
We know this will never happen as none are being broken!

And those Ministers are so full of their own “huff and puff” that they expect us and UK to sit down with a bunch of public LIARS?

It gets tiresome listening to emotive speeches from the Argentine government that could be written for a soap opera because they contain absolutely no factual content. Rather than taking her seriously, world leaders appear to treat CFK like the batty relative that always causes a scene at family get-togethers; they make calming noises hoping she will go away.

Argentina has the potential but this kind of low-level government will always keep the country from developing. Argentines deserve better. IMO

The comments by the Argentina government, which are then published for public consumption are meant to keep the Falklands pot boiling. One of the reasons for this is that the Argentine government has serious economic problems, among others, and it is a very old ploy to divert a discontented population from internal political stresses, by using as emotive language as possible (flags flying...history;false or not) together with playing on ignorance and poor education to enhance election chances.
Lies and divertions will continue from the Argentine government no matter how many protest or show where the truth is. What is missing in the assertion from the Falklands issue is that the UN can be seriously wrong. Cynically, I would say that some UN members have vested interests in this, and the United States has forgotten it's own Constitution in that the rights to self-determination enshrined in it were betrayed when President Obama (whom I previously trusted!) decided that relations with South America are more important than the rights of the Falklanders. The Trouble with that is that some use the resulting warp of democratic principles to further their own ideas of what democracy is, and if that body is not a democracy in any case, then arguments directed at it, from the aggrieved free nation, are to no avail. Democracy knows no geographical distance, and the Falklanders are British by choice and inclination. But that falls on some ambitious and deliberately uneducated ears. The Falklands is British soil because those people wish it so. Enough said.

I seem to recall that Argentina was recently claiming to be a 'responsible member of the international community' Can't be a responsible member of the international community if you let imbeciles and lunatics walk around and talk to the world press.

Perhaps you Argie tossers haven't noticed that Britain was in the Falklands in 1690. Long before your pisspot country was even thought of. Perhaps you haven't noticed that your claim is based on 2 years and 4 months of illegal presence.

Room 101, The US hasn't with sided with Argentina. They have said what they have always said, that they support negotiations. They said that even during the war. Only 34 out 192 UN members have fully supported Argrentina's claim. To support negotiations is nothing more than a gesture of neutrality in practice. Both the UK and Argentina support “negotiations” between Israel and Palestine but will always full short of supporting either side like others have. Also Argentinas consitution makes any negotiations impossible now as Peter Pepper proved in his debate on Mercopress with Andres Cisnores.

I have to agree. Obama has not sided with Argentina at all. In fact, the US is pretty pissed off with Argentina atm. It left them off the Obama tour. I believe they regard CFK as a self-serving, drama-queen. They are only concerned with keeping a lid on the antics of Argentina.

    Hello, Numbers 33 and 34.
“...support negotiations” The Falklanders don't want that, since their case as far as they are concerned is cast-iron and case-shut on the basis that they have self-determination. President Obama knew that. Presumably the United States' present self-determination is negotiable, just as it was for the War of Independence. Semantics don't wash.

    45. Your the Brainwashed one and you have proven your ignorance even further. Before 1983 citizenship was a formality achieved once residency was established. Anyone from the territories were entitled to come to the United Kingdom and work and have the same rights as a UK citizen and many did from all over the commonwealth as well as the Falklands. So they were never treated as 'Second class citizens' thats rubbish and a fascist belief. More to the point, the islanders were (and are) self-governing territory with their own rules and function as if they were independent (that's what you idiots fail to understand). Within their own boundaries they were and are today very happy with their political status. You're not going to achieve anything putting words in to their mouths. In fact an islander can freely go and work in the UK but a UK resident needs permission to work there. I'm also not a Kelper, so your wrong three times.

    Briton #48 et al,
“Argentina you are becoming the world’s biggest joke, with a deluded nutcase at the helm, and an even worse deluded disciple up the rear,”

Brit, you may be right, but do not underestimate the damage that nutcases can do:

Pol Pot was a political nutcase that murdered a million and more of his people,
and Idi Amin was a crazy man who did for up to a million of his people.

An Argentina that gets carried away with its own brand of crazy rhetoric can pull millions into a continental catastrophy.

We are not talking about a spasmic conflict on little islands - we are talking about major players using the excuse of a conflict to tame the 'nutcase states' of the Continent.

Food and fuel and climate stability (rainforest) are going to be in very short supply for many (developed) nations - nations with weapons, perhaps wanting some excuse to eg. turn back the Chinese tide in South America, in order to sequester the resources, through the forced-asymmetry of 'preferential trade agreements', to themselves.

Constant stupidities like those of CFK and her Minister of Defense, can destabilise much more than just the Southern Cone.

NATO is in a state of reworking its role in and across the world, and it would be so sad if it decided to show its significant teeth against a pretty defenseless continental enemy in the defence of a NATO protected Protectorate (NATO is much more than the North Atlantic).

Neither China nor Russia would come to the aid of the party, though both would use the opportunity to play the game closer to home; so restricting the conflicts to S.A. would be extremely unlikely.

All the UN Resolutions in the world will not protect The Stupid if they prod the pride of lions and try to kill the cubs.

This is why the USA *will* do what it must do to stop the stupidity before it gets out of hand.

And these Muppet Argentine politicians want to be taken seriously in the world. I cant stop laughing at them at the moment, every time they open their mouths the whole world loughs at em. Some one should tell them to engage brain before opening gob, oops I forgot they dont have brains do they, they just open gobs and shite comes out

45 Marcos Alejandro---- Your not related to this Muppet are you, because the shite you come out with is just like the shite he has come out with.

But what is far more worrying is that the people of Argentina lap up all this nonsense and actually believe the nonsense that their Muppet leaders tell them, what does that say about the the people that call themselves Argentines.

They are so out of touch with reality it makes me wonder if the world community should just make Argentina one big hospital with thousands of psychiatrists on hand to bring them safely down to earth, because if that lot thinks they are sane then I know a few hospitals worldwide with residents that think they are sane. Jesus send a few straitjackets for gods sake. Cookoo cookoo

Puricelli alleged that the British “have increased the strength of their forces in the Islands because of the weakness of their arguments to occupy the Islands”.

Like I have just said Cookoo cookoo

Please help me. I am one of the hostages. Please call me to make arrangements for my rescue. Only don't call tomorrow because I am in the Caribbean right now. Try at the end of next week. No, wait a minute, I'll be in Disneyworld with my family then. Maybe the week after. Oh damn it, you won't be able to rescue me then either- I'll be in London. I'll be in Australia after that for a while, maybe you can rescue me after that except don't make it any time in October because I'll be back in the Caribbean then.

Anyhow Arturo, please don't waste any time.

Alejo 59- what support? These organizations merely support the idea of talks to resolve the dispute. Show me the declarations where they specifically actually support the Arg Claim?
Answer me WHy does Arg never say at the UN.OAS etc that it would only ever accept ONE result of any talks - full Arg sovereignty regardless of any wishes the islanders may have? They always quietly “forget” to mention this fact at these meetings dont they! because many of those member nations would not sign up if they knew the truth! I know that - and so do you!
Hell at the UN your Minister told ,what he knows himself to be a blatant lie- he claimed all Argentine civilians were evicted in 1833 - that, as you and I know was a LIE! Go and check in your national historical archives ! Only the soldiers were evicted, all the civilians bar 4 stayed of their own free will- not even as hostages!!

@59 Any time I have travelled in South America I have heard nothing but scorn and dislike for Argentina... And on a number of occasions this joke:

In the beginning God created the world, including the continent of South America. When He was finished the angels looked at His work and were pleased, but said “You have given Argentina too much - a beautiful varied countryside, a pleasing climate, and a wealth of natural resources!” God looked and He saw that this was true. “I have been too generous and given too much to this one nation,” He said, “I will balance things out - I'll give them Argentines!”

You'll have to excuse that the joke makes use of a bit of licence in that we know that this lot that call themselves Argentines are not the native people of the country, but it's a joke that serves to show what the average person in S. America things of them!

Argentine election fever: the UK Minister accused of maintaining “Falkland Islands 2000” hostages

It's amazing how the agency handled Mercopress grossly tendentious information, and is clearly not impartial and twisting the opinion in favor of England and its interests. He's done it with other items by placing the photo Galtieri, when aggression is evidenced English or putting the flag of the island, in discussions of sovereignty when a dispute between two countries and not three putting in the same category of country the islanders when they are not a country.

1 - In Argentina there is election fever, as it still does not complete the registration period in the list of candidates in most political parties in Argentina. In any case David Cameron is beset by economic crisis and humanitarian bombing civilians in Libya for a conflict to divert attention from English domestic public opinion.
2 - The claim of sovereignty over the islands is state policy, and transcends any political color or government in power in Argentina.
3 - All of the Argentine political spectrum from right to left unaminidad agree on the legitimacy of the claim of sovereignty.
4 - The conflict dates back to 1833 and has since become permanent.
5 - This is not temporary but the whole political society as a whole is Argentina's claim.
6 - Changed roles: David Cameron is Galtieri, Argentina Threat to increase the armed forces in their base to attack the continent if he persists in his claims sovereign when it has fallen significantly and it does so peacefully arms race supported by the opinion world public.

for the fool that said, “South America who? OAS who? UN who? MercoSur who?” at least Brasil can afford an aircraft carrier. england already knows that more aggression against the Argentine Nation it can't afford. england is virtually bankrupt today as it is. the one warship england has supporting the Malvinas is a danish flagged ice breaker... really? Argentina only needs to send two Espora Clase Corbettas to deal with that. england wouldn't find one single air field or friendly port in the entire hemisphere. also, Spain is an observer of the OAS, they have two aircraft carriers and will float a third by 2015. again, how many does england have? england has a mouth on it that needs another good slap. Argentina was an issue in 1982 even though half it's forces were pre-occupied with the chilean threats of agression at Patagonia. now england would have no allies. someone please tell me, how will england even finance this war if it comes? at a time when england has scaled back it's military for the past decade, Argentina has consistently improved it's military and reached out to old enemies to mend fences.

the UN has recommended bilateral talks over the issue of sovereignty to include a third party mediator. england has at every instance refused. england continues to try to harvest minerals inside of Argentina's exclusive economic zone and on the continental shelf as defined by the UN. england is violating international law in terms of the latter, and practicing bad manners on the former.

  • JustinKuntz

BS The UN has not recommended that at all, nor would Argentina accept it. Argentina's idea of “talks” on sovereignty, consist solely of the means by which Britain capitulates to its demands and hands over the Falklands to become an Argentine colony.

Britain is not violating International Law, Argentina frequently does, for example UNCLOS. If you want to have a matter of International Law mediated, the correct venue is the ICJ - which happens to be the one venue Argentina is conspicuously absent from. You had the opportunity and you spurned it, why? 'cos you'd lose.

Notice the comments from British ministers speak of defence and deterrence, ie stopping the Argentine forces whose “power” you were just bragging about from invading. All we hear from Argentine contributors are empty and impotent threats about Argentina threatening the Falklands.

Bad manners? Well it was Argentina that has unilaterally torn up every agreement on the Falklands since the war.

And newsflash you ignorant racist warmonger, the revenue from oil exploration goes straight to the FALKLAND ISLANDS, it does not go to the UK. And to correct your ignorant racist rant one little bit further, England is only one of 4 countries in the UK. Try that in Scotland ya eejit.

“at least Brasil can afford an aircraft carrier” The Uk is building two supercarriers.

“the one warship england has supporting the Malvinas is a danish flagged ice breaker... really?” - No. The islands also have a armed patroll corvette and a destroyer. As awell as reportedly a sub in the area.

“Spain is an observer of the OAS, they have two aircraft carriers and will float a third by 2015” Not really. One proper aircraft carrier and a multipurpose ship.

The americans have about 20 of these Multipurpose ships, don't even call them Aircraft carriers. Otherwise the US would have over thirty aircraft carriers.

“even though half it's forces were pre-occupied with the chilean threats of agression at Patagonia”

Can keep blaming that all you like. Wouldn't matter if they had 200,000 people on the islands in 1982. With no food or supplies they would have just starved to death.

“at a time when england has scaled back it's military for the past decade”

Argentinas is much worse off than ours.

“Argentina has consistently improved it's military and reached out to old enemies to mend fences”

This is LOL. Argentina's military was in a better place thirty years ago, much better state. Our forces while being scaled back in size has had it's capability upgraded significantly.

hahaha, my point has been proven. bring substance and logic to the argument and the english can't handle it. did someone really just call me a “spik”? and then another one of you accuse me of racism? no anglo saxon person in the world has the right to call any Latino or Hispanic a racist. england has the one danish ship down at the Malvinas. do you all read your own newspapers? you are paying 26 million pounds for it. how are you affording that? and the “super carriers” you spoke of, the plans have been scrapped. unless the royal navy has suddenly made money materialize from air.

england is on the verge of bankruptcy. you can't even pay your workers.

Spain classifies the Juan Carlos class carrier as a “buque de proyecion” or strategic projection ship. it is however an aircraft carrier capable of carrying a deadly compliment of euro typhoons. england has no more harrier jump jets in it's naval arsenal. england couldn't maintain a battle against Argentina and Spain would today destroy it. what troops would england muster? hahahaha... you english people are so arrogant. you will be slapped down and we will be the ones to do it. your age is over. and no the falklands does not get the proceeds from the material exploration and extraction you dolt. they don't give billions in resources to 2,000 sheep screwers! you are getting nothing! i doubt you are even on the Malvinas. just another lying loud mouthed brit.

No it's not. There is currently no carrier capable Typhoons. BAE have designed a Naval typhoon but
    1. It's not been produced.
    2. It would not fly of a smaller carrier(it would require a aircraft carrier the size of a US one, or one of the ones the UK is currently building)

“england has no more harrier jump jets in it's naval arsenal”

Well...Actually, we do. We just aren't using them and will be scarping them soon.

Yes. And again what you've said is 100% incorrect. The Royal Navy has a River class patroll ship and a Type 42 destroyer(Currently HMS Gloucester i believe). There is also a sub on patrol around the area that can be called in.

Also, the “danish” ship you speak of does not patrol the islands much at all, it is mostly around southern waters around the Antartic.

“how are you affording that? and the “super carriers” you spoke of, the plans have been scrapped.”

No, they have not. You should really get your facts right because nothing you've said so far is even half true.

oh i see... multiple profiles. hahahaha!! “rule brittania” and all that outdated garbage. you'll never have super carriers.

you were right though, it does not support the euro typhoon, it is the AV-8B boeing harrier air superiority jet...

again though, what does england have to match that? nothing that matches the Prince of Asturias. hahahaha... you have nukes you would never launch. your prime minister has much smaller balls than thatcher. england is no longer globally important. it is not a super power, it never again will be. it is on the verge of bankruptcy. once again... you cannot afford a conflict with the Spanish/Portugese speaking world, because that's what it would be. MercoSur has a defensive alliance. you attack Artgentina and you're toast. the US will not come to your rescue this time and give you the vital intelligence; without which you would not have even seen the Belgrano or the Veinticinco de Mayo from a few yards away. hahaha...

maybe england should stick with supporting roles. it has shown how well it acts as the lap dog for the US. should the day come when Presidenta Fernandez decides to go to war, i'd not recommend england fight back. at least not until these alleged “super carriers” are floating. hahahaha!!! maybe you can ask france for a ride. i've also heard you brits will be sharing a new carrier with the french. french built of course, they are likely paying for it as well.

it's hilarious how your media speaks without end about Spain's financial woes (that were caused by the english not paying debts on their “holiday” homes”) when england is about as financially viable as iceland right now. your media has done an excellent job of concealing the financial state of affairs since the 80's.

Argentina has tried flexing its muscle (1) in 1833 and 1982. It lost on both occassion as Spain did in 1771.

Now I'm not a military man but as the UK still has the 4th largest military budget in the world, even after our recent cuts, I figure we must be paying for something. I suspect its that/those subs you really need to keep an eye on.

1833 didn't start anything, it finished it. The British claim goes back to 1765 and we've neither relinquished or abandoned that claim since then. Because of the embarrasment caused by Vernett with the U.S. in 1832 we decided to act positively. We are still there and you should by now have got the message about how positive we are.

What we are capable of, I leave to others to argue .... or Argentina to find out!

The EU against us! Spain against us! The OAS divided and unwilling to support us! We must take strong action now, the time for talk is over, democratic debate is for the weak! The British colonial population of Las Malvinas are illigal immigrant squatters on Argentine soil they have been there since 1833 and have no rights! We must remove the colonial population from Latin America! This we must do now, while UK is dealing with Afghanistan and Libya, after these wars end they will have far bigger Army and Navy to defend the islands.

It seems not that Jake has left his indignado camp in the middle of some town square and has more time on his hands...

England is not the same as the United Kingdom. We don't continuously refer to Castilla when what we really mean is Spain. Please try to be accurate.

“nothing that matches the Prince of Asturias”. You must have forgotten about our subs.

“La crisis” was “caused by the english not paying debts on their “holiday” homes””. You need to open your eyes Jake. How anyone (English or otherwise) could be paying off debt on a property they don't own yet beats me. Most of the property bubble in Spain HAS NOT EVEN BEEN SOLD YET! Most of it not even completed. There are half-built urbanizaciones all over the place. Half built buildings is a feature of most of Spain. Yes “english” people have put down deposits on properties which are not habitable, “english” people have been granted licenses to build which are then later rescinded and forced to knock down their homes at their own expense. There are thousands of illegal properties in Spain all because of Spanish corruption. Spanish lawyers, Spanish Alcaldes, Spanish developers. Best you get your own house in order before blaming your problems on others.

Oh, and while on the topic of Spain and her profligacy. Next time you drive on a motorway and see the “confinanziado por la UE”, just think for a second who actually paid for that. British, German and French tax payers. Because Spain does not become a net contributor to the EU until 2013. You are quite happy to take our hard earned tax and waste it, and now it's our fault you can't manage your own economy.

The whole of Ireland was given independence in 1922, but the Ulster counties voted to leave the Free State and return to the UK. Perhaps you could explain that, since you are such an expert on Irish history.

    @93Think,
You would know what an authentic squatter was Cher Think because you are one yourself.
The land you are inhabiting was stolen from someone else.
Probably couldn't call you a pirate because you're up in the Andes but your ancestors certainly were.
l guess you are a hypocrite like most of the other Argentines on here.
Do you really believe the rubbish that you sprout about the Falklands or are you just trying to fit in with the rest of the population & not get noticed?

    Back? I never left.

The OAS Declaration has been the same for decades and the US signs the thing every year. The US has backed negotiations since 1984, nothing has changed.

    The story from this year:

    OAS Declaration, june 10th 2011.

Either one of two things have happened.

    1. Nile Gardiner has been making up storys about the OAS and the USA has refused the sign the OAS Declaration EVERY YEAR since they first introduced DECLARATION ON THE QUESTION OF THE MALVINAS ISLANDS (1988) By the way google this. I think you'll find no trace of the US refusing the sign the Declaration.
    2. mercopress took a statement and came up with an incorrect conclusion.

I guess Damien McElroy is making up storys too.

    @Filippo

Argentina has niether the resolve of military strength to be making statements like “before it's to late”.

A developed country like the UK could easily wipe Argentina of the face of the map, difference is we have the resolve and maturity to know the difference between right and wrong.

That's why Argentina will never be a super power or have access to nukeclear weaspons. Your quite simply not a stable enough place to hold that sort of power.

Maybe in a few 100 years when you mature as a nation, and you correct your false history.

@ Kiwisarg (#) In 1982 our government was busy cleansing our country of the illegal Argentines! If we had removed all of the liberal socialista dirt before 1982 (and there were more than the 50,000 we killed as evidence the current government!) we could have won back las malvinas. We need to remove from Argentina all the Anglo-Argentines too, who spy for their motherland even if it is 5 generations old! There are no real people on Las Malvinas, they are all British colonials although they live there 180 years they live there as squatters on Argentine soil. Same with the Chilians in Tierra del Fuego! They can claim their Argentine birth certificate now like the James Peck, or they can be trodden on like the ants they are by our Argentine jackboot.

They are non people. They are like the Red Indians, good only for taking their land from. Send the colonials back. These “Falkland Islanders” rejected our rule in 1982! They think they have “the right”, like the socialists and the communists and the peasant left and their liberal agenda, they have no rights. The socialists were quick to support Galtieri in 1982 - because they did not care for their fellow socialists he killed. They are weak. History respects only the strong. Who remembers the disapeared now? Only those who killed them my friend! We have Las Malvinas to debate, more war to think about, our boots to clean, the Mulatto to kick into the gutter where they belong, the Chilieans whose land we must take and the Falkland Islanders who are like ants ready for our jack boots. I hope you have polished your boots well my friend... or maybe you too are a socialist LOLLOLLOLLOL

    Good article……………………but:

”Phyl Rendell, the Falklands Director of Mineral Resources, says: ‘We want their money but not their mess.’ He confirmed that a second rig, the Leiv Ericksson, will arrive later this year.”
Ooooops…..I think sweet Mrs.Phyl Rendell will resent being called a ”He” :-(

”Kevin Green, a foreman on the rig, tells: Everyone is trying to keep it quiet but we’ve already hit it. There is oil, there’s lots of it and it’s viable.”
Ooooops…… So much for foreman Kevin Green’s strict contractual secrecy clause :-)

Kevin Green then reveals that radar operators on the rig have detected a submarine patrolling the waters around the islands in recent weeks…..
Ooooops….. Please tell the MoD that their stealth submarines can, from now on, be detected by RADAR :-)

environmental experts dont think the same....cocodrile meat is an unnecesary luxury item having so many others things to eat
their biology and behaviour do not lend themselves to a captive life

the more this animals are being commercialized the worst for them:
    1) because they are in danger of extinction in their environmental nature and people will be trying to kill and capturate him more
    2) because captivity its cruel for them just they are very wild animals
    they should live in freedom
we can buy many other luxury things that doesnt affect the environment
we should help preserve other species too like whales wolfs penguins etc

Let’s stay on the pirates theme this is all ‘pugwash’!
Is it election time again in Argentina?
I am British, I love Argentina and my family has been native and near native for many years.
Does another very poor Argentine government that has further destroyed/diminished the role of public institutions, whilst lying to the people about everything from unemployment to growth, inflation to crime and poverty to corruption; and allowed nepotism and cronyism to engulf commerce; attacked business or anyone else who wants to constructively criticise their policies; and made Argentina a ‘leper’ in the eyes of the international financial community; presided over one of the most corrupt governments since Peron 1 and Peron 2; seek to deflect the electorates attention with pure populism?
No doubt, the Islanders will seek their independence in the not too distant future. Just look at the shift in their press-speak and what they are saying about self-determination. They will use their oil wealth to break away from the UK and Argentina cannot not do anything about it! The international laws and precedents on self-determination are set in stone now.
Maybe then, Britain can improve its ties to a country it helped develop in the past and both countries can prosper further - ARG is home to many Brits and has been for over 150 years - Cameron's an idiot and the Kirchners were/are criminals - not a good mix for sensible dialogue.
Come on you Argentines – how can you wish the crap you have endured and still endure on a people used to solid institutions and the rule of law – clean your act up , for your sakes, do not vote for the Victory Front, get rid of them before it’s too late!!
