Uruguayan president Jose Mujica called on Sao Paulo corporations to cooperate with the development of Mercosur partners by adopting a policy of alliances with local companies and leaving aside ‘colonizing’ temptations. Read full article

    As the EU found, the extending of full membership to external povery-cases is no answer to the asymmetries within the present grouping.
    Just one outcome of open border agreements with Ecuador and Bolivia will be a huge population drift from these countries to Sao Paulo.

    One thing is true, the 250 defunct/redundant/dislocated Mercosur supra-national institutions, and the defunct Mercosur Parliament, Parlosur, need a bigger axe than is currently at work chopping down their own rainforests.
