Certainly the same lessons could be learned from Hadrian's Wall, The Great Wall of China and, of course, Israel/The Occupied Territories/Gaza.
Interestingly, the Germany walls of separation were sold to the Eastern communities as a way of Keeping the West Germans from flooding into the East, such was the indoctrination that the Eastern model of society was so superior.
