Well well well, been reading since 2003 that the economy will colapse, fly of capital overheating, etc etc etc...

Now we are nearly in 2012 and the economy wont stop growing: 9% this years, 8% next year (only second to China) and the IMF World Bank and all those who have been predicting catastrofic consecuencies for my country will have to swollow all those words... AGAIN! 8º)

    Hmmm...
Have a look at her family history and their involvement in the Argentine economy - rape, pillage and plunder of every centavo they could get their grubby hands on...

Part of the reason the predictions of the imminent economic collapse has been off is because no economist thought that the Ks would plunder the country's private assets, Anses, Banco Nacion, Bacra the list goes on and on. There is no way the gov't could have survived if they didn't steal all of the hard currency out of the country. The problem is now its gone you can't steal it twice, USA is shutting off Intl bank funding so that cash flow is going to be gone next year too. BACRA funds are depleted and Soy is crashing, now what? CFK should take her stolen millions and ugly children and move to Miami or she better keep a helicopter at Casa Rosada to help her escape when the riots start again.

    Yuppppppp.

Mercedes went rouge and has been, for many years, working very hard for the good side........
She has also the most charming smile……....................... (when she smiles:-)

    About you……………..
You categorize yourself as an “antifascist” and “democratic” but you constantly utter many of the old prejudices about your neighbors that have been created by the fascist and antidemocrats in our respective countries to keep us disunited.
You also say that you have been living abroad for a long time……...............
Well Dr., let me tell you that things have really changed down here in the last 30 years……......................................
It would be nice if you could scale down a bit your anti Argentinean rhetoric…………
I can nearly feel those Chilean bayonets puncturing my bottoms :-)

Wages certainly seem to be increasing, although they don't seem to quite match inflation.

It might be that I've just grown used to it, but even inflation doesn't seem as bad as it was 7-8 months ago. That said, prices haven't stopped rising yet.

I'm still enjoying living here though, even more so now that spring is in the air.

#5 Arg is in a pickle because of the Real devaluation and the increase in U$, the only tool they have left is to devalue the peso. They have done a good job over the last few years slowly bringing it down but I don't see how that can continue. I expect 5/1 shortly and then you start feeling inflation again. The reason you don't feel it is because you are in it everyday. I went to BA a few months ago and was shocked at the prices especially food. There are a lot of items you are paying more than we do in the USA and your salaries can't support that for very long. The same thing happened in the 90s when $/sqft in BA real estate was higher than Manhattan and then it all came tumbling down. The pattern keeps repeating because they never learn the lesson.
How may Argentinian currencies have you seen in the last 60 years? 5-10? The zeros get to be too many so they lop them off and come out with another name, functioning countries don't do that.

It can easily result in an unforeseen increase in the number of members of the Argie-Brit Team Frase.

    I didn’t change anything….. I still consider him intelligent……………

    Besides………………

In my personal experience, the only way the Argentinean Armed Farces could have won a war against our Chilean neighbors in the 60’s, 70’s or 80’was by having, at least, a 2 to 1 superiority on troops and material.
On less unequal terms they would have filled us with combos en la guata y patáas en el hocico...............

#4 OK – I’m human, but when that effwit Artillero starts on his rant and cant, I can’t resist the urge to bait him a bit…I realize things have changed a lot in S Am, and I try to keep fairly up to date on those. Still, there’s nothing like being there for that. I am contemplating a return, when I sort out and dust the pith helmet, etc. The rhetoric is largely for Artillero and some others of his ilk – I actually have some very fond memories of Argentina and its people. They are, however interspersed with recollections of being offered a ride I couldn’t refuse in a Ford Falcon by two gentlemen – one an off duty Army captain and the other a ‘civilian’- before I’d even gotten 100 metres from the border, and a few more similarly ‘interesting’ situations..
Would you enjoy, or be up for, a spot of bayonetting, perhaps?

#8 What are you going to do when they start shooting back? Cry?
#14 Like in ’78… The going gets good, doesn’t it, when you can behave like a bunch of pack animals. It’s safer, too… Amazing that the amount your courage seems to grow is in inverse proportion to the factor by which you outnumber your victim… try it on your own, maggot!

    (18) Dear Dr. Carrizal

I “Think” you have correctly pinpointed who’s the real enemy here……………
People like “Artillero601” on the Argentinean side………..
Or “Sergio Vega” on the Chilean………..
They both evidence a total disrespect for democracy, human rights and ethics, hiding back their archaic understanding of a “Sociedad Occidentral y Cristiana” and the “Teoría de la Seguridad Nacional”.

Luckily, this day today, it is the “Thinking South-Americans” running the show, not the “Gun Toting” ones.

    Un abrazo
    El Think

PS: You were lucky that the Ford Falcon ride was on the backseat…… not in the trunk.

Damn right - my shift into survival mode was immediately effected by reverting to very limited Spanish - I am a gringo of sorts - and, under a barrage of questions, a total ignorance of what politics even were... They were giving each other rather odd glances which I read as being favourable to my chances - I had little doubt that if they didn't like me, or considered me a threat of some sorts, that they would have turned off the main road very quickly and done what they considered necessary... and I have never wanted to dwell on what that might have entailed... They actually didn't really seem like arseholes either - just prisoners of their tunnel-visioned belief system
Here's to a better future for all...

Alignment with Chavez is part of the thinking SAmericans?? At end of the day, it really makes me sad .....

#25 You just don’t (read can’t…) get it! Nor do you guess well… You leave yourself wide open because of the ridiculous misassumptions you make whilst trying to appear knowledgeable – you fool no-one except yourself, but since you’ve probably been doing that all your miserable life, you probably always will! You’re all bluster and blather, screaming out and beating your chest on your imaginary high ground, tugging your 155mm and don’t even realize what a perfect target you are presenting yourself as… You eff off – you and your mutant dwarf alter ego (or, in your case, should I say ALTAR ego – down on your knees again, hmmm… and wipe your chin between loads!)
Do you froth at the mouth or just drool when you’re posting your doggerel?
#26 It is fairly widely known that some Argies gave a good account of themselves during the hostilities. Not many, but some. And it’s you who is “diluted”, you deluded dickhead… I guess those survivors from the beaten zone – no pun intended at all, whatsoever, honestly – were used to digging in well – it comes naturally to troglodytes! Or at least it displays a skerrick of the evolutionary process...

Right, it isn't, bit it does show what a complete ignoramus you are - whether based on the fact that language consists of a lot more than grammar, or your statement of a while back asserting that “Chile stole Antofagasta”. As I said earlier, I'm not Chilean , and being considered one is no skin off my nose - being Chilean, or considered so has to be a lot better than alternatives such as being Bolivian, Peruvian and other grovelling arselickers such as Argentininans like yourself. You're like a turd sized dog - a chihuahua, for example. Go snap at someone else's ankles for a while! Va fa culo!
